My group and I walked into a room. This is said to have quite a few undead in it, including intelligent undead. However, we've only encountered 2 undead creatures in the several rooms we've explored.
The room we had walked into had a couple of corpses lying on the ground. There were also coffins lining the wall and a strange sigil that we've seen several times, which supposedly keep the undead bound to this place.
Our paladin made quick work, smashing the sigil to ruin it, then proceeding to smash the corpses so they don't come back alive. This place was making him paranoid.
We opened the coffins cautiously to find nothing within them. As the rogue, I decided to check one of the doors inside. Then we were ambushed.
Several ghouls proceeded to dig themselves out of the ground. The paladin was completely surround, his trusty lucerne hammer useless. He was lucky to have picked up a longsword before entering this place. The rest of the group started fighting.
I took out my sickle and fought the three ghouls that set upon me. I was still feeling weak from a shadow that had attacked us earlier. The paladin was stunned and attacked by all the ghouls surrounding him while the rest of the group took out what they can from the entrance to this room.
He was lucky that his armor was strong enough to deflect the blows. He eventually became able to move again and took down a couple of the ghouls. The crowd was clearing, but I still had 3 of them attacking me.
I was struck several times, but I felt no ill effects from either of the stun or the disease. Only 4 hp left, I was hoping to survive this encounter, but my attacks proved to be ineffective. My allies were handling the last of the ghouls on the paladin, who was somewhat injured. They thought I was able to survive with my superior dodging skills.
I was unfortunate, however, two ghouls got a hit on me, totaling to 13 damage. I was holding on by a thread of hope. If I couldn't stop bleeding, I was going to die. The paladin tried to clear the way to me, but he was unable to get to me in time.
My turn came around. I failed my roll and bled out the last bit of life I had.
Pathfinder. This is bad for my group because I'm their primary healer, even though I only have 1 level of a divine spellcasting class. I'm also their rogue.
