Not too bad. Spellcasting can either be fun or infuriating depending on how straight your mouse movements are. Running down a fleeing goblin, then cutting him in half with a two-handed axe is pretty fun. Sadly, it crashes a lot.

Grossly underestimated the Ylsiedes. I've never seen anything move that fast, let alone in full plate and carrying a two-handed sword. No wonder an entire fort was wiped out by three of them.

Arx Fatalis: wondering what the hell I do now that I've got Krahoz. I think I broke the game, the king says to give it to the Order of Edurneum, but the snake-chick in the castle won't take it, and the only other place I've seen them they attacked me on sight. Consequently, there's a level filled with dead snake-women.

How is that game?  I've had it sitting in my queue for a while and was thinking of playing it after I finish Alan Wake: American Nightmare.

I managed to get inescapably trapped in a small pool of water under plank in the demo.  That was... not exactly a good argument for me buying the game.

Ive had this game for less than 48hours.

  We land near a gas station, confident in our new armour.  While we tried to avoid the pumps and explody cars en route to the store itself, we find we cannot completely do do, so we do what we must.  all of 15feet from the door; sectiods.  4 of them.  Okay, not so bad.
  We take cover.  This act of moving to the sides and eventually flanking them alerts 2 more sectiods.  Fuck.  To make it better; they shot every damn car in sight, and all of them will be kabooming next turn.  Fine.  Moving away from the cars caused 3 floaters to appear.  6 damage shots plus crits from being flanked to hell and back?  Yes, please.
  We should have aborted.  I would have had 3 guys, 2 injured.  But nope, I had to be stubborn.  We lost.

edit:  I was playing ironman, so no reloads...

XCOM: Enemy Unknown

fucking Classic asswhoppin.

Reminds me of the UFO:EU encounter where I lost 3 boys at a gas station at night.  To 2 floaters.  Gas staions=evil, money hungry death traps.  And gas in Argentenia is U.S. 9.57/g. haha.

I always blew up the gas stations before entering them. Usually killed some nasty buggers before my boys could get shot to hell.

More on topic, my last 'game over' was playing Cruel solitaire. I miscounted my cards and ended up making it so that I couldn't get to a card I needed to win.

Etrian Odyssey 3

Another one I forgot. Difficult as hell boss, with three independantly acting pieces. Fast as hell, each piece usually acts twice before my guys can recover from using their own attacks. While my primary spellcaster can take off about 10% off all three of them in one spell, she doesn't have the MP to maintain that rate without support, and she, along with everyone else is too busy getting the crap kicked out of them to manage it anyway. And it can also change it's elemental properties, and when it does, it hurts everyone, and can cancel their attacks.

And I lost some money gambling in a casino that has a reputation for using loaded dice.

A wererat summoned a bunch of rabid sewer rats which surrounded my Orcish Ranger and chewed him to death.

Sucks too, I had an unidentified wand of undead turning which may have been able to repel the wererat before it got so close and bypassed my kiting distance.

Nethack

Found a small pocket of Native Aluminum in the second spring of Cloistereddimples, and hungrily dug it out and sold the crafts that I made with it for the food and booze I desperately needed. Got a perimeter wall up that season, complete with 1-tile-corridor for traders that I intended to fill with traps, and possibly a magmafall. Suddenly:

Intruders! Drive them away!

Over a hundred and fifty zombies swarmed my little outpost, driven by a Dwarven Beekeeper. There was nothing that my dwarves could do to stop the onslaught of death, as they had only enough weapons and armor for five Dwarves, and no traps had been laid.

Your strength has been broken.

Minecraft

Apparently, eating an old corpse of the giant bat you found down in the depths of a dungeon is rather bad idea. My second Orc ranger, Org, spiritual succesor to my first ranger, has died of food poisoning from eating aforementioned dead bat. He was doing so well, too.

I could've prayed to Mars to save myself. It had already worked once before when Org got food poisoning from eating a dead jackal.

...except that my previous attempt at memorializing my loyal little dog, who was dead at the time, by offering him up on a chaotic shrine somehow pissed Mars off.

I managed to chug some uncursed potions and tried eating whatever else I had to try and vomit the poisoning out, but it seems I died before I could finish my second jackal. At least Org died well fed and drunk on chemicals. Ah, well, Yet Another Stupid Death.

Ah, fun times when first learning that you could aim spells diagonally. Nothing is spookier than aiming a spell in to the middle of a fray and accidentally bouncing it in to something just beyond your vision. Then you see the message "You hear thunder rumble in the distance..."
