My team was defending our starbase from enemy bombers and we had managed to stop three runs already, in scout ships.  This time though, it had heavy fighter escorts instead of repair ships.  All but two of us got killed quickly, and I went to ram the bomber to throw off his aim, and got hit with an anti-base missile, which killed me.  Moments later, the base blew up and we lost the game.

Sure, I had the Heavy Armor perk that increases unarmed damage, and Berserker Rage, and a fuckton of health potions, but I still killed the damn thing with my hands.

Elder Dragons are a wee bit harder.

Yeah, well, I didn't have any health potions, and it's breath just ripped straight through my armor. My only source of health was my healing spell. And that doesn't even happen with normal dragons, who I can effortlessly kill.

Sheeit son, wait until you're fighting ANCIENT dragons. Then they start showing in pairs occasionally, not to mention how many times I've been fighting a dragon and wandered into wildlife... Like two dremora Valkynaz.

And that's why it's the best game ever!

Max somehow managed to take out both Tycho and myself with a flush on the river card, beating my somewhat lower flush I had since the beginning of the hand.

I don't know if I could ever like Skyrim. Morrowind was awesome, but Oblivion was kind of a disappointment in every way except changing combat so hit chance was no longer tied to weapon skill. Every time I think of Skyrim I hear a horde of people just endlessly parroting 'arrow to the knee' like it's the new "I'm Rick James, bitch!" (Man, middle school sucked.)

More on-topic, ffs I wish Catwoman would not just instantly die the second a thug sees her. It's making clearing these damn challenges ridiculous. >.< Getting pretty tired of Tyger guards...

Batman: Arkham City, GOTY Edition. Specifically, I think it's called Top of the World [Extreme]. It's the hard version of the Wonder Tower challenge, anyway.

Oh god, that mission. It might help to replay the level in the story, or at least on the easy difficulty, and look around for sneaky passages inside the tower. There's a bunch of vent accesses that I never would've found from outside the tower, but once discovered are really handy for getting inside without going through the obvious doors. 


On topic: Got dizzy from swinging around a sledgehammer with a couple of fireaxes duct-taped to it. While I was recovering, a zombie tackled me to the floor and ate me.

My char is so incredibly tanky that he's nearly invulnerable.

Moved almost a full stack of ships into orbit around the al-Malik homeworld. Next turn, they attack, taking out about 2/3rds of my guys, but their entire force was wiped out, so I move a lander with an Engineer into orbit.

Silly me for thinking that their entire orbital defense was destroyed. Next turn, almost a full stack of starbases plus some other ships pop up. Nobody survived.

After reverting to an earlier save(that was my entire fleet), tried to build spaceships from Stigmata(al-Malik was using the Imperial Eye ships for herself so why not), but then Hawkwood took the Regency(somehow has 6 Sceptors, but nobody has lost any of theirs, not even the League or Church) and also claimed the Stigmata Garrison post for themselves.

Fallout

4 months into the war and command had built up a formidable combat squad of veterans all with numerous skills. Led by Commander Takana, many invaders had met thier end through guile and brute force. Research was going well with reverse engineered alien gear beginning to supplement our own equipment. Investing in our third and fourth bases had drained our funds, so hopes were high of a good haul on what was supposed to be a formidable recovery mission - a downed craft over North Africa. Things didnt go well. 2 scouts were cut down moments after leaving the transport. The drone was sent out to scout out our enemy - some kind of robed species not yet encountered. Apparently they had some kind of Psi-ability, as shortly after contact our previously rock solid AT-trooper went nuts and fired off a large rocket whilst still in the transport. There were no survivors, and no-one left to lead the fight.

He assassinated two wives, the first of which was Cersei which threw a wrench into my plans big time, he killed my master of coin and he tried to assassinate Tyrion Lannister who for some reason was heir to the Westerlands, and those are just the ones I know about, I suspect he was responsible for the "natural" death of his brother at age 23 as well... needless to say my little county did not make many friends and I did not last very long.
