Crystal Nightmare running, got some nice loot from random chests, but the character is woefully underleveled for this. (Level twenty Arma gogo) Got to floor ten somehow, still with one healing ring to spare and no food. Some way into the floor, that ring breaks.

Without any way to recover health, I died rather fast before finding the exit door that would have saved my hide. I am pretty angry now.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. isn't about getting a slightly easier finale, it's about stacking the odds against you and then kicking the game in the balls, all while yelling "I'M DOING THIS SIMPLY BECAUSE I CAN!"

And, of course, dying several dozen times while you're at it.

Mars. What a stupid planet.

As soon as I arrive, I talk to Dutch and the rest of the squad just sort of runs out into the desert. By the time we catch up they're all dead. Then Dutch just starts firing his minigun at a giant Federal Interceptor. I'm like "No! Dutch! The checkpoint marker's right over there! Just run away!" but Dutch ain't having none of that. So I escape to the bunker and Dutch is gunned down. Now, whenever I leave the bunker there is this giant aerial death-machine hovering above the entrance with lasers and gatling guns and goddamn missiles shooting everywhere, and my only support is one guy standing in the bunker who is completely unresponsive to everything I do. None of my guns do shit because it's so heavily armoured and I didn't bother buying heavy artillery for my snipe/stealth character. Mars. Stop killing me.

I had a force of six battlecruisers totally wreaking a nearby Terran base. At my base I had two bunkers full of marines but little else to defend with as battlecruisers are hella expensive. With my paltry defences I was unable to remain standing when an army of enemy's elite mechs and tanks punched through my thin line of defence and murdered my hero unit.

Raynor is killed!
