How good is D&DO? I've been meaning to try it out, but I don't want to spend two days downloading the game only to find out that it's terrible or boring.

Aha! I bought a bomb.   And theres these guys digging a tunnel under the base!  Parfect time to use it!

Lesse, what button activates it...aha, that one does... now what's the button to throw it....not that one...not that one, maybe I push the button to take it out aga- *poomph*

Guy on other team in the tunnel:  FAIL

Its not bad. I gave up on MMOs years ago, but DDO is actually entertaining to play, especially with folks to party with.

Do a search for baystation12, it's our private server and has a forums. But it's heavy RP and is a bit different from the public goon stations (Killing is not common and it's based of the code) but you should be able to get used to it.

Technically we're on /tg/ code, but we've ported stuff over from our old goon-based code.

It is pretty fun. Bit difficult to RP, if that is your thing, due to all the meta-knowledge. Very fun to play with groups, there is a hireling system so you can play solo too. The thing is, the game has a reincarnation system. You can get bonus feats (up to 3 per class) from reincarnating. Some people have all three for every class, and all the optimal loot. You will never match these people, and no one else in the game will either. But people love to use them as a standard rather than an ideal. So ignore 99% of the playerbase and it is a very fun game.
