Was preparing my fleet, trying to set up a Hyperspace Gate behind the enemy(took two tries, they instantly zeroed in on the first one, despite a flight path designed to bypass any reasonable detection. The second one was hidden by a Sensors Disruption Probe). Then all of a sudden a Battlecruiser jumps in right in front of my carrier, which is right in front of my flagship. It managed to slag the carrier, a few frigates, a couple of fighters, and bring my flagship down to 10% health before finally being brought down. I saw them preparing an even larger follow-up attack, so I launched a do-or-die attack on their Mothership through the Hyperspace Gate.
Two guesses to what happened next. Here's a hint: it wasn't "do".
Another game, I was standing at the top of a broken cargo lift, and I see a human/worm hybrid down below. I step on the lift, it breaks, and drops about 30 feet. I crushed the hybrid to death, but I was hurt so badly that my paltry supply of medical supplies wasn't going to be enough, and I hadn't turned on the respawn machine in that area yet.
System Shock 2. I finally managed to get it to run perfectly. The ongoing sound issue I had was due to the Positional Sound Bias setting being somehow set all the way to the left.
