After installing a few mods that added in small flying mobs (butterflies and birds), I decided it would be a good idea to put my farms in a building to keep my crops from getting trampled.  While I was building the structure, however, the game decided it would be a good idea to spawn a bunch of ogres, (added by the same mod as the birds).  One promply goes on a rampage, destroying the farm building, so I built a tower to get out of its reach.  And there I sat.  For two whole (in-game) days.  Eventually I got sick of waiting and jumped off the tower.  I figured that if I die I can just respawn at my bed and wait for it leave before coming back to gather my stuff from the chest.

I died, of course, since I only had an iron sword and half a set of iron armor.  I respawned at my bed, then go downstairs to get some food for my wolf.  I could still hear the ogre tearing down my farms -- or, at least, that's what I thought it was doing.  What it was actually doing was demolishing the bottom floor of my house.  So I went down the ladder, landed on the last remaining bit of floor right before the ogre destroys it, and then fell to my death.
