Base got overrun, got killed numerous times alongside my teammates, mauled by a stuffed bear.

Death by equal parts stupidity and luck. DA2, fighting a dragon, all three squad members die in battle, I manage to worm my way into a spot where the thing can't attack me, too far for it's melee attack and too close for it's ranged attacks and It can't move closer but it's AI won't move it farther way. I get impatient when I run out of mana so I use blood magic to fuel my spells, I then instead of turning off the Blood Magic use the last of my health to fuel a spell, I had hoped I would have atleast one point of health after the spell.

So instead of just standing in place and waiting for your mana to regen so you can kill it, you kill yourself?

I was impatient and worried that what I assume is a bug that allowed me to reach a place it could not attack at all would fix itself at any moment. But like I said, it was bloody stupid of of me.

Was fighting a giant mecha with bomb layers and giant energy swords, colored a funny yellow so kinda looked like a JCB XD

i don't want to derail, so I'll just say they do an acceptable job explaining the series of events that lead this alternate reality. It's written by the guy who wrote Red Dawn and Apocalypse Now, so he has previously expected viewers to suspend belief as well. Multiplayer is really good, but nothing truly new. Just new maps and vehicle drops.
