One commando left said commando gets shot aliens steal the skyranger fly to my base with an armada of UFOS send CHRYSSALIDS OUT OF ALL THINGS IN with hordes of them and I lose my main base they find the second base and take that over then they kill humanity and dance.

I always wondered what the aliens did when you failed in X-COM.  It is now Fanon that they dance for eternity.   Good day.

The Nomad's wing came off, so I downed it, but my engine broke, so I had to bail. Over a Japanese airbase.

And in other artillery related deaths...

Was playing ARMA II online and had just set up my 16 gun artillery base and went to pick my first target. I target it, call it in. All is well. Then I turn around and realize that my target is actually (realitively) close at 1km away. I realize this becuse one of my guns is pointed at my head. This all happens in the half a second before it fires and kills me, and the gun.

But other than that the attack went well, took out a barracks and an air factory, a pair of VTOL capable F35s and a dozen mixed soilders.

Actually, the aliens aren't even trying to harm humans at all. It's simply the fearmongering of the X-Com cartel, which supplies laser weapons to oppressive regimes the world over while tricking the governments into funding them further. If X-Com loses, then Earth realizes that the aliens are actually quite benevolent when they're not being shot down by rogue fighter jets while trying to aid humans.
