Wasn't there some reincarnation-based game produced in...India or somewhere, like five, six years ago...where the ultimate goal actually was transcendance, and in multiple lives you could learn more about the world or tweak it to the extent that you could completely avoid violence if done correctly (and thus win)?

I find the Ancient Arena of Stone. I decide to try my luck and go in. I unseal the door, and open it. About two seconds through the door, I'm dead. Fuck that. And the first floor is supposed to be really easy compared to the second.

I was hit by a poison dart. My companions couldn't find an antidote in time. Just a side quest thankfully.

I was able to kill The Tormented One, but I didn't quite have enough resources to kill Frank.  He had 8 HP left of the 636 HP he starts with; I wouldn't survive the counter attack.

I chose to take the Pyrrhic victory instead of retiring.

It worked out though.  I got the credit for killing both bosses even though I didn't finish the dungeon.
