Why did you have an autocannon at the point in the game where you could meet mind-controllers? I usually have everyone equipped with laser rifles at least by then, and for explosive purposes alien grenades aren't hard to research.

My felid monk got zapped by a kobold who somehow had gotten its hands on a wand of flame.

There was no warning, one second I'm sneaking up on the helpless sleeping kobold, next turn *zap* and I'm turned into roasted cat. I was only on level two, too.

It was like the gnome with a wand of death.

lesson learned, never drink out of random fountains.

No, I understand that Elona only considers you a Snail insofarasmuchas your starting stats and equipment slots. I played as bacteria, Gods, and a motorcycle-I think. Elona+, at any rate.

What I'm wondering is how he can amass a fortune-nay, survive-as one of the most gimped races in the game.

And I'm really sorry to be derailing this thread, so here's what happened to me.

He basically says that no matter how good you were, you are now a shitty rookie. Apparently fighting aliens beyond our comprehension is a bit tough.
