So I generate a map and the game autosaves. Next to my starting location are two ruins that I send my scout and warrior to investigate. Being the lucky SOB that I am, both ruins spawn a total a four lizardman barbarians who then proceed to wipe out my units and undefended city.

Okay... So I load the autosave and just ignore the two ruins and do some standard early game build up, settle another city and generally do quite ok. I meet a neighbouring faction whom I believe is too far for me to attempt a successfull rush on. Next thing I know, a veritable horde of the said faction's warriors are throwing themselves at my second city. My defenders get a decent kill:death ratio but fall to overwhelming numbers. Down to one city, and a still significant warrior stack stomping towards my capital I start training recently tech'd tier-2 units. Alas, it's all in vain and I once more fall to the superior numbers of the zerg rushing AI.

As for deaths, I was supposed to bait a golden deer FOE into a cage trap without injuring or killing it.  I misjudged both the distance I had to run and its speed, and it managed to get between me and the door back to the cage.  Needless to say, since I decided to stick to the mission instead of just slaughtering the thing and sending my apologies to the noble that posted the mandate request (or for that matter, using an Ariadne Thread), I got slaughtered instead.  Well, to be fair, the thing was strong enough compared to my level that its trample attacks would have likely stomped my team flat even if I had fought seriously.

I think this game makes enemies extremely tough the first time you encounter them, then scales them way down later. Trandoshan slavers are absolutely brutal the first time you see them.

Well, found the teleporter.  It apparently loops me back to teh beginning of the level.  hmmm, wonder if that big looking one has something to do with it.  More on track, I bet Link felt like I did when Lanmolas attacks in his side scroller.  but I wouldn't know, because that game stunk.

My friend's copy of Ocarina of Time has Z-targeting set to "Toggle", whereas I always used to have mine set to "Hold". Cue much frustrated button mashing while I try to figure out why the camera isn't going where I need it to go during the Lizalfos fight in Dodongo's Cavern.
