Got killed by a butterfly recently.  That quad hits for 6K damage and I only have 54K HP.  Didn't last long.

Only in Everquest do the butterflies and the giant suits of animated armor hit for the same amount of damage.  And both have tens of times as many HP as you do...

Playing Fall from Heaven, I went evil and used infernal pact to swap over to Hyborim, it was tough going at first, but there seemed to be plenty of wars going on because I got a lot of mares early on, but then I got curb stomped by the guys to the south of me. How did they get so many frigging centaur archers? There were like, fifty of them, it was ridiculous. I tried stacking all my units together in a city built at a chokepoint, but they just sent in a bunch of catapults to soften them all up, then the centaurs cleaned em out. It was ridiculous.

Went to Point Lookout at lvl 10.
Worst. Decision Ever.
I was also playing my stealth character.
30 minutes in. I'm surrounded by Brawlers and a Scrapper.
Got slaughtered.

OT: I forgot I hadn't put ladders in my mineshaft yet, and introduced myself to the ground. (Minecraft, of course)

found a chasm... and a spider spawner.
After crossing the chasm on 1 block bridge, i closed up all exits of the spawner into 1 block wides.
Then i mined the iron next to it.

Yea.
Two blocks later i free a spider and it pushes me of the bridge, dropping all my valuables into glorious lava.

I was travelling away from factory I had just looted when I heard explosion. I see robot parts roll down a hill. I wonder what killed it and ready my rifle. A huge bear emerges behind a large boulder running with great speed at me.  Im terrified because I know how unprepared I am to meet one. I enter bullet time mode and aim for the beasts head. It's too close and too fast for me to have any real chance to kill it I but have to try.

All hope fades as I realise that my rifle has jammed. The bear kills me with two mighty strikes.

You have a mission, to stop the launching of a nuke. You and your men have breached the enemy base, guided and supported by Sniper teams and armed with grenades and an arsenal of weapons.

Reaching the blast doors, protecting the control room, the timer reads 2:49. Minutes:Seconds.

The door is controlled by a panel, which was hacked by an ally.

It moves...slowly...as expected.

In the words of one of the characters: "You gotta be f'ing kidding me!"

Reached the control room, 0:49 left. Where was that ever-present objective arrow you see in games like these?! Wait, playing on the highest difficulty. Great, well at least I know it's one of those computers.

The control room is filled with computers.

Perfect.

Found the right console at 0:10. The feeling as you type down the code really rings true, as in reality.

Too bad, this was not so. Bar was about...80% full?

Boom.

Checkpoint > Far back.

Not really a death, since it's a rollercoaster simulation game, but as I was building my go-karts, and surrounding it with building scenery, BAM CRASH HAPPENED. Lost all progress and lots of rage ensued.

Swarmed by creeps taking random paths through my towers, the heavy towers had too slow of a tracking speed to get the ones closest to the base, the laser towers overheated and couldn't fire anymore, and the machine gun towers couldn't DPS enough after I tapped the 'spawn wave' button 20ish times in a row.

Dawn of War 2: Chaos Rising, Last Stand mode.

Died at wave 19. You know, the wave that sends TERMINATORS ALONG WITH 6 MOTHERFUCKING DREADNOUGHTS AND AN ASSLOAD OF SCOUTS. That wave.
