Lost because the enemy Zerg computer somehow managed to sneak some Guardians around to my base and start tearing my defences up when i wasn't looking. I killed the Guardians, but i then fell to the KEKEKEK ZERG RUSH that occured afterwards because my defences couldn't hold.

OT: I ran out of whateverthatresourceis while storming a civilian science station. The backup ships that were summoned when I brought down the shield ("THE HULL HAS BEEN BREACHED AND THE SCIENCE IS LEAKING OUT!") wiped the floor with my ships.

I was standing in the middle of a parking lot surrounded by forest, my allies were all huddled around a hippy van looking around. Suddenly, you hear rocket fire, all my allies snap towards the noise and I dive for the van. The shooter cloaks then runs up to me and chaingun slaps me and instakills me because I didn't have armor, all my allies then blew themselves up, got rocketsniped or chaingunned down.

One-shotted by the final boss. Well, technically three-shotted, only it does over 4000HP of damage per hit and hits every 1/5th of a second(and my guy has about 11000HP). And the one guy on the team that's a speciallized healer was just standing there watching. No really, at that part of the fight your party just runs off to the side to watch, and if you talk to them, they tell you to get on with kicking the boss' ass.

Shining Force EXA. Finally manage to beat it, though. Ending was kinda meh.

It was my sixth or seventh, and most successful IVAN game. I had mastered the underwater tunnels leading from New Attnam to Attnam, and delivered the Viceroy's scroll to Petrus, High Priest. After the delivery, I had been transferred in ownership from the Viceroy to Petrus, I was now his slave. He sent me to slay some sort of evil frog in a cave south of Attnam. I had cleared the first level of the dungeon, with great ease. I thought it was going to be smooth sailing, but then a pack of wolves appeared. One of them managed to get a lucky shot on one of my legs, and it went all downhill from there. Slowly they ripped off my limbs, one by one. I barely survived the onslaught. On the previous level, I had picked up a nugget of gold, and later, a golem creation scroll. I animated the gold nugget, but that wasn't enough to save me. When I had been reduced to a torso with a crippled head, I was decapitated by one of the wolves. R.I.P.

In crawl terminology, "disintegrated" means "blown the fuck up". . .it's very unpleasant. . .

Warped in to a new (tech ~20) system and the Clockwork is immediately swarmed with hostile civ craft. My ships couldn't fight them off and the Clockwork went boom.

Ah, yes. Sonic Team made awesome music come out of that 4 (5?) channel synth. Fast, emotive, sparkling, pumping, beautiful music.
...Now I've got Ice Cap stuck in my head!
