I somewhat agree. You get a lot of tools in Sekiro, but the timing and application of them is super specific. None of it is required to beat the game. It's more of an artistry thing. But yeah, through multiple playthroughs of Sekiro, I just saw so much that looked cool but I could never find the right place/time to use it.

Me and my companion decided to sleep for a bit before tackling a Forest Titan.

I woke up to an Alligator trying to eat me.  My spine was snapped, it's biting down on my head.
