Tetris was the first game boy game that I ever played.

Yeah, Tetris was one of the first games I ever played.

On the way to to Ostoya(my village is just to the south-west, near the waterfall cave) to finish a multi-season quest and sell some goods, when I found a bandit camp. And by bandit camp, I mean a very heavily fortified siege camp. I thought I could take them on. Nope, theses guys have iron helmets and probably thick gambesons too. One of my stone arrows bounced off a guy's head. Went straight up.

I did manage to kill three of them before their archer got me.

From having watched some Classic Tetris World Championship games recently, there is a way to hold the controller that allows you to tap a lot faster, aiding movement across the board.

Got absolutely shagged by Victor, despite being near max level(technically at the original max level but they've raised it since). This put me in a minor depression spiral because I realized I had to do a lot of breed grinding. And to do that, I'm going to have to ruin the otherwise at least one nice and efficient base layout I had to accommodate the extra facilities needed for industrialized atrocities.

Fortunately, this game is built around industrialized atrocities.

I’ve gotten back into C:DDA (zombie apocalypse simulator) recently. Because I apparently have some self loathing or something, I’ve been mostly playing fairly dire starting scenarios - naked and alone, in the “start in a mansion” or “start in a house in the middle of town”. So far, my best run was making it to the mansion parking lot, finding a working car, then driving it over the horde of zombies surrounding me and through the gates; dying when I made the mistake of trying to go into the nearest town. Shortest was five minutes - torn apart by a pack of zombie dogs with nothing but a screwdriver to my name.

If I remember right they changed it to where you have to keep taking the antibiotics and eventually it will fix itself, I haven't personally done this because I usually die by the time any wound gets infected.

Playing Sekiro NG+ after a break. Found that even with block not working properly it is still vastly easier to kill most enemies with plain attack-deflect than by trying to actually use all of your stuff. And umbrella's block also not working properly is just a bummer.  :(

Survived but fuck me if it didn't put a crimp in my plans.

Fucking bear camped me. It spotted me so I went into a hut. Hid for an hour, left, bear's still there. Hid for an hour, left, bear's still there. Hid for an hour, left, checked all around me, see nothing. Walking back and suddenly there's a fucking roaring from behind me. Turn, the thing's on the path I was walking a few seconds before. I've no idea if the game bugged and forgot to spawn it in for 10 seconds or something, but regardless it was there. No running back to shelter, next shelter's a bit of distance away but I might be able to sprint there before running out of breath.

Nope. 20m from the front door I'm tired, I go to give myself a steroid injection and don't have enough time because in a second of stopping running it's mauling me.

Now I've got to repair my clothes and replace my hat, and wait for my condition to get back up. Bloody thing.

Henry was riding back to Rattay after from a long horse travel to Sasau ... what poor Henry must do to convince a woman to work as a servant and cook for a rich merchant ... when in a forest path he spotted what looked like a random peasant waiting.

Listening to his intuition that told him that peasant was very likely a bandit waiting for a prey, Henry knew it would make some nice money to kill that bandit and then selll the loot once at Rattay.
After approaching the guy, oh surprise ! a bunch of bandits he didn't noticed rushed in from the side of the path , Henry heard his courage telling him to ride away from there as soon as possible, because too many enemies = death , that's not Mount&Blade man in which you kill a conga line of AI by backpedalling

Looks like the bandits probably setup a trap somewhere (probably some kind of rope between trees, as without expecting it Henry fell from his horse as he was gaining some speed.

Once on the ground, and trying to stand up he noticed that the bandits were running very close now, so time to try those new sword skills acquired from getting spanked repeatedly by the Captain Bernard back in Rattay.
hmm ? Henry isn't wielding his sword ? press the sword key again, nope, while taking a bunch of strikes from the bandits Henry managed to open his inventory and noticed that for some reason his sword wasn't equipped anymore since he last used it, it was there in the backpack.

After equipping the sword and pressing the key to wield it, Henry was ready to defend himself, only to notice he was already near dead and a last few bandits stabbing him managed to end his life.

lessons of the story : always make sure your damned sword is always equipped before travelling

I just finished the Rust Wells and wandered up to what looked like the next spot my next quest told me to go.  I immediately got a notification that someone was sundering my mind and doing 7-15 HP of damage per turn, when I had only 44 HP to begin with.

So, I retreated off of the map edge to try to figure out what to do, when I get a notification that something with a really long name electrocuted me for 43 more damage.  That thoroughly killed me.

I've got about 8 hours in the game so far, but I don't particularly feel like I'm making much headway in understanding how to survive.

Last mission in Anno 1404, the only one where you can lose.
Couldn't be arsed to search for spies in the city, since it is a pain and their shenanigans were mostly harmless. Lost all wood in the stockpile? No biggie. A ship sunk out of nowhere? Ouch, but I can build a new one. Last shenaningan was apparently infecting entire city with plague. People die out in a flash, plummeting my income to -1000. Alchemist on the other island offers to make a medicine for 10 iron ore. Disabled all iron production to get some, sent a ship to alchemist. Sent it back without picking up the medicine.  ::) Sent it once again, the moment I deliver the medicine and disease goes away I get game over by debt.  >:(

Not sure how I'm supposed to win this battle. The last segment is to take down the enemy commander, except he flees as soon as he appears on the battlefield. He starts out a fairly large distance away from your forces once he appears, and he runs pretty damn fast. I was barely able to catch him when force-marching before he reaches the exit, and if he exits, you lose automatically for some reason. He also keeps running even when my forces were attacking him. That's not counting the unexpectedly large army I had to blow through just to catch up to him. My army is actually overleveled for this battle, so it should be more of a curbstomp, but it's not.

Cast giga black hole, no range-extending spells so I'd been relying on cast-and-run.

What I'd failed to take into account was that it would make a huge chunk of terrain break off and smash into my head at terminal velocity.

Early on there's a lot of 'okay now you die'.  Later on there's some too.

I try to grind a few levels on snapjaws in the hills before I go out.  Get some basic gear off them too.  What class youre running will dictate how reckless you can be in general.

Have you tried a random starting village?  It removes the first couple of argyle quests and replaces it with random quests like 'open the door in x place' or 'get the boots hubajuba in y place'.  A bonus is you can use your reputation to recruit some relatively leveled town leadership as companions.
