One of the challenges in Realm Grinder is to cast a particular spell 13 times in 5 minutes. This spell has a 24-second cooldown. The 13th doesn't need to expire before the 5 minutes is up, so I have 12 seconds to gain enough resources to become a druid then cast the spell for the first time, assuming 0 seconds between other castings of the spell. 10 seconds or less would be best.

I'm playing on mobile, so most buttons are like 4 pixels tall. So many failures, so many mis-clicks.

Edit: That 12 seconds is hitting the buy all button twice, switching tabs, buying 3 buildings (set to buy max before the run), switching tabs back, buy all, buying neutral alignment, hoping I can buy druid immediately, then clicking the spell. Assuming RNG works out in my favor. So 11 perfect clicks (one pixel off is a huge percentage) in a row, in different parts of the screen. And it only works if I happen to gather the correct coins to buy druid in the first few seconds.

Got a mission to sink a rather strong royal navy ship, a requirement was also for my ship to reach level 10.
After attacking and sinking a small merchant ship and its escort with my good sloop (that got better from some previous attack that provided me some good loot and upgrade) , i got to level 10.
I sailed toward the target area and engaged the royal navy ship.

It was obvious its guns were very strong, after a small exchange and my bad navigation choices that often put me right into his cannons sights, i sailed away with the intent to repair then come back. Though i had lost already half the crew but didn't wanted to go back to a port to hire more tavern drunks.

When i came back i saw that luck was on my side as 2 pirate ships (one was also rather big) were already engaging the royal navy ship (oh the joy of the RL randomness sometime being in my favour).
I decided to use the opportunity to approach the target while it was distracted and use one of the special ability i acquired recently : a weapon on the bow of my ship that act like a flame thrower that proved nice in a previous sea battle.

Unfortunately it was time one of the big pirate ship turned and as i was manoeuvering a bit too fast myself we collided hardly, leaving both of us open to the royal navy ship that wasted no time in shooting all its cannons in our general direction.

Let's say that my sloop that was completely stuck didn't lasted for long. Damn, i was so close to take this one out.

Surprising (considering the reviews) very good underrated Pirates-like game, i guess the bad reviews were from before the various patches seriously improved that game, but it's really worth playing if you want some ships vs ships battles in piracy settings .

Opened a door and got punched about five times by a sand golem, which severed a leg. I panicked, rendering me unable to fight back. Being half as legged as I used to be, I couldn't outrun the golem. But maybe I could make it back?

Then I ran into a hardened clay golem. Easy to kill if you're not panicked. Alas, I was. So I got double teamed and beaten to death.

Several restarts due to the fact that I had no colonizable planets in my scout ships' range(which is longer than the colony ships' range). At best, there were crappy worlds I'd have needed to wait for research for, but even then, it wasn't great.

Finally get a map that I can expand on. Get into a war, and initially doing well, until the enemy started using cloaked bombers to cripple key areas of my economy. That's bad enough, if legitimate, only to also discover the AI actually does blatantly cheat. I revealed one of their spy ships heading to my main fleet with one of my own, which then destroyed the spy. Despite being dead, it sabotaged the fleet anyway, which the AI followed up seconds later by curbstomping my crippled fleet.

As I was sailing across the ocean, I was marked by an Elder Guardian.

I sailed on, and I saw a strange light at the bottom of the ocean, near a frozen island. I tried looking there, but I saw nothing. So I tried to get back up, but I got stuck under ice.

I tried to mine through, but I still had mining fatigue and could not break the ice even with my Efficiency 4 pickaxe.

Realizing this, I tried to get out from under there, but could not find my way and drowned.

Afterward, I remembered I had sugar cane in my inventory and the sea floor was sand. I could have saved myself using that.

Got smacked with severe lag while trying to exfil, alongside having two teams come to fuck me up. Lost my large backpack, revive pistol, self-revive and three-plate vest because of it.

For a supposedly AAA game, MWII has been AWFUL with stability, connectivity, and general functionality. If you ever need a laugh, draw a boss helicopter to a SAM site you're controlling in hills or near buildings, wait for it to get shot down and then hit the ground or buildings, and then watch the server struggle for three minutes trying to sort itself out. It's ridiculous, this should never have passed basic testing.

(don't actually do that to the poor servers, the other players will not thank you)

Aren't AAA games commonly the worst for those things? :p

If by modern you mean "newer than DOS", yes :P

The major developers have had trouble on that front since it was a front you could have trouble on, heh. Turns out netcode can be hard no matter how much money you throw at it, I guess...

To be fair, I've had no issues except when my internet's shat itself. Turning the router off and unplugging it for a couple minutes always fixes it.

I visited an outpost right while it was being attacked. Aside from a few human defenders, there were 2 turrets. Luckily, the attackers were only a handful of rats. The game gave me the option of making a skill check to ambush the enemies, so I did that, and took one out to begin the fight. The rest surrounded me. The first turret shot cryo attacks, debuffing and injuring 2 more rats. My high-tech character didn't have enough actions to finish more than 1 more, and my melee brute killed one and left one nearly dead. The second turret launched a fire-based explosion right at the center of the enemies: me. I finished off the rest of the enemies, but was bleeding and burning to death, as well as severely injured. I stopped the bleeding, but the fire got me.

Encased.

I seems to be the way of modern AAA games for some reason.

The push for profit: spend less on employees by overworking and under-paying them. Quality falls, but everyone's (the big studios, anyway) doing it so it's not like there are better alternatives for customers to seek out.

Savescummed because I'd set up a nice defence. Doorway, three guys in melee, one guy with a rifle shooting from the back.

So, of course, one of my dumbass melee guys decides of their own fucking accord to leave the defensive position and open another door to get into melee with a random guy. I have no idea why, I didn't tell them to do that.

Now I have two doors open. The numerically superior, better equipped enemies start flooding in through it and stabbing the shit out of my guys. They steal loads of stuff and kidnap a colonist for good measure.

Exploring an area looking for the next part of the quest, and I found a mine in the middle of the path. Hey, free xp for dismarming it. Saw 4 more on my way to it. Eventually disarmed all but 2 out of like ~40 of them. Then I found an NPC who warned me to watch my step, as they had laid mines to keep out monsters.

3 waves of them, which would have been much easier (ie, would not have been a TPK) if I had left the mines.
