Oh, my last death was also in Oblivion. I drunk a potion of restore health and tried to swim across some lava to an island. I died while on shore of it. My last save is just before fighting a Xivilai and his clannfear and saving the previous Peirithea cultist.

That's why you always quicksave before trying to do something stupid like, say, swimming through a lake of lava.

Oh, boy! Are we going to try something dangerous?

Is that the one where you get a few dark templars including Zeratul? If so, you can rush the nexus in the lower right corner with your dark templars (and maybe a few zealots thrown in there to draw some fire, but iirc you start with those too) and win in like two minutes. Basically there's a completely clear path to move the templars from your base to the bottom middle of the map and from there to the lower right.
It was, and thanks for the help.  I didn't try a game-start rush like that (I'm sure it works, though "completely clear" seems like an overstatement) but it was a mistake to try overwhelming the red bases near me.  Orange is oddly less powerful, despite having a fleet beacon for occasional carriers.  My horde of scouts were able to focus down the enemy Nexus in the corner behind the terrain, which fortunately turned out to be the "heart of the conclave" objective.  A couple of templar might have ruined that plan, but fortunately they were out on patrol and only got grazing hits on my air force as I rushed past.

Of course, the story-bit afterwards was an odd "reward".  Even if he has a plan, why... HOW would he

At least we managed to escape from the battle we just won...  bah.

Died again on the next level to an early-round carrier and dragoon attack.  I should have been less protective of my unhealable VIP battleship, bah.  Tired of playing Protoss, and tired of "hero" units I have to babysit and conserve so much.

Switched to Terran Broodwar campaign...  No gas, literally just marines against tanks/vultures/goliaths/firebats.  But it gives me plenty of minerals, so eventually I find Duran's hidden base tucked in the corner, with gas.  After bashing my marines against the incorrect path a few times.  It's kinda like they designed these levels with Black Sheep Wall in mind, but whatever.  Get some upgrades, 4 siege tanks, making steady progress against the back of the enemy base-

Beat the shit out of a bunch of weaboos with my (possible) girlfriend. Leaving her to deal with rest of the riot that showed up, I walked over to the guy I saved for a reward, only for one of the idiots to smack me in the back of the head, causing the game to bug out and eventually crash.

1870 hit and the Scramble for Africa started. I deliberately postponed my next research project until Machine Guns were available, so I thought I was all set. But I didn't know a thing about how Colonial Points or Naval Bases worked. I got my hands on a tiny bit of West and Central Africa and a tiny chunk of Sokoto, but that was it, because my "navy" amounted to a horde of wooden Frigate ships and old steamer transports.

In 1870.

Yeah.

This came to a head when Spain and I ended up in a colonial race over a small chunk of central Africa. I didn't even think of just backing out when the crisis hit, and ended up suffering a loss of face when I accepted Russia's solution (i.e. me giving Spain the territory.) (I was definitely not going to war over this--Russia was allied with the UK and France was backing them, whereas I just had the North German Federation on my side.) This pushed me down to #10 on the list and I ragequit over losing the great power status I'd clawed my way up to.

Grammits. Just god-damned crowd of grammits who just killed me to death because i forgot that i need to kiĺl one of them to finish god-damned quest.
And they are most boring enemies in all game.  Go into the dungeon room, see two-three grammits, summon scamp, beat grammit with 15 frosr damage on touch for a bit run away to heal, beat him again, gather loot, repeat for each grammit.
Then you go into another room and see ANOTHER two-three grammits...  ::) and if you decide to run past them, they WILL kill you because you forgot that objective of this quest is to kill their "magicians". Grrrr...

What is a grammit? I've played Oblivion and its expansion packs through, and I have no idea what a grammit is.

Never heard of any mod that has something like that either.

Recent death, tried to get the achievement for holding a tar slime for 15 seconds as it chews on your face. Turns out you need a health upgrade to hold it that long.

What's a guy with 250+ wins as a particular character doing in rank 5?
He goes 11/0 with a support and taunts after every kill.
On one hand, I'm a bit salty that he's so obviously smurfing around in low ranks for kicks.
on the other hand, how sad must your life be that, after putting in all that time, you still do that? I mean, just quit. Get a job. Take up a hobby. Look at porn. There's a million more productive things to do with your time.

Was trying to feed my 40 pink slimes. The pink slimes are right next to where I keep the boom slimes... and they were kinda hungry. Or at least bored.

Early winter, I was building a cabin for storage purposes on my little island.  Early in the week a lynx had been spotted, but I'd paid it no mind because it had run off while when I turned to chase it.  This time, I had my back to an open door of the uncompleted cabin.  The lynx sneaked up, and with two powerful claw attacks, killed my character.

Not playing this again imminently.

Brought evidence against a crooked mobster, and joined the sheriff and deputy to deliver justice.  The mobster threw an insult at the sheriff, then a knife at me.
Fortunately throwing knives are pathetic in this game.  Unfortunately, my 9-luck character missed with a shotgun at point blank range (73% shot) and then got critical-hit twice by guards with uzis.  First in the groin, then in the eye as I writhed on the ground.
Also, Ian dropped his fricken gun.  Again.
