Lost a lot of my good base staff due to plot shenanigans.

I had to shoot them myself. Some of them were saluting me as I shot them. One guy shot back. The rest were just begging for help.

OH, and if you look at the Former Staff/KIA page of the Staff Management section, it'll list most of the casualties as "Shot", some as "Death by Suicide", and one or two as "Death by disease" in accordance to how they died, not simply KIA as the piles of poor sops who keep getting killed on 5% danger missions. Oddly it doesn't show anything for the three guys hit with the napalm.

That was... depressing.

MGSV:TPP. Also, is it really possible to make diamonds out of human ashes? Because that's even more horrifying.

Meanwhile, I can't even get to the tragic plot shenanigans because the loading times are somewhere between "longer than it should be" and "forever" while online mode is active.

Not that I can even tell what benefits I get for online mode (haven't unlocked FOBs yet).

EDIT: Also, 18 minutes to upgrade the iDroid to add an extra placeable marker is....

Online mode benefits: More resource / staff opportunities, random assorted loot from Online Dispatch Missions or successful infiltrations, the sheer pride you feel upon successfully infiltrating a base, robbing it blind, neutralizing every guard, and getting away scott-free...

Reason for the slowness on Online mode is server load from a new event that started yesterday. The most annoying part about Online-mode resources is that everything pulls from your offline stock first. If you overspend GMP a little to send your offline cash into the red but your total GMP is positive, then lose server connection...

Fell off a pipe and died.
Reached the bottom but missed TWO TARGETS.

I've given up trying to finish the R&D Target Practice.

Konami must have designed that level.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pay us now!

Given that there's a premium currency system that disturbingly resembles that of many free-to-play mobile games, I feel like the game is good but riddled with bad design/marketing/transaction choices.

I bought sour skittles. I have a low tolerance for sour, but I do like it in small amounts. Thinking if I can handle sour patch kids, which are supposedly completely marketed on being sour according to the name, surely mainstream candy brands play it super safe not to scare anyone away from their brand and I will be fine.

I was wrong.  Sour skittles appear to be absolutely completely coated in what I can only describe as pure, candied, pain.  RIP my tastebuds.

Me+rocket launcher and waifu+anti-materiel rifle vs a metric fuckton of tanks and APCs. Tanks and APCs won. Repeatedly. Including getting killed more than once by what appears to have been getting shot in the head by a tank cannon from a few hundred meters away.

MGSV:TPP. Also ragequit the game when I accidentally said yes to equipping the Chicken Hat. And dammit, one of the guys escorting the first APC has A++ in multiple skills and Liquid Carbon Missile Engineer 1 skill. Seems to be a guaranteed spawn, but he either gets his head blown off by Quiet, or I take a facefull of cannon trying to extract him.

Yeah, that mission is total BS.  The APCs were rough but not unreasonably so (rushing them helped, once you know the pattern from trial and error) but the tanks require long, tedious cheesing as far as I can tell.  Firing an RPG from one side of the building, then sprinting to the other to fire another.  Since if you let the cannons even attempt to fire on you, you're risking a OHKO as the shells hit a wall yards away.  Be ready to call in a couple dozen supply drops, too, for replacement rockets.

Awful mission before, during, and after.  But mostly during.

Was setting up Arthur to off a swordsman, knowing he'd probably take damage in the processas a healer-xp-earning gambit, when the swordsman got a 2% crit and killed him.

Don't have Shadows of Valentia yet, remembered I'm working on a CQ Hard runthrough. This level keeps killing me with the stupidest stuff--missing on 90-something chances, tiny enemy crits making it, you name it.
