I uh... accidentally cluster-bombed the Space Center.

I was launching a fairly standard rocket, four solid-fuel boosters mounted around a liquid-fuel engine with radial decouplers. Unfortunately, the automatic staging made the decouplers fire at the same time as the boosters. So, the boosters activated and then promptly shot off in every direction, presumably hitting several buildings before I reloaded a save.

I know she's virtual. I know she's just a combination of voice synthesis and a face they picked almost at random. I know she's not real.

But she's real to ME. And that's what matters.

But that doesn't explain why she keeps beating me at reversi.

Was exploring the area around my newly built shelter after my long travel in those snowy lands, i moved on top of a hill in the middle of the forest and spotted an elk or a stag on the other side of a large river.

Good time to test my juniper bow on the bigger game, it worked with that squirrel a couple of day ago.

Despite my character wasn't feeling confident in the ice of that river, i still then zoomed in and started to crawl on top of it, after some time the ice unfortunately cracked and i was in the very very cold waters.

Instead of listening to reason and try to get back, i decided to try to still move to the other side, after all i crawled already for some time on that large river, it couldn't be far anymore, i would have to just endure that cold water a bit more until i would reach the land and make a fire.

Had the easiest lane ever as a support Windranger. Neither side was particularly good but me and sniper were way better than the duo we were against.  For some reason our mid tower kept getting attacked, and a lot of times when I looked there no one was in mid lane, but things were looking up.  I notice things are going badly top lane, there are three heroes pushing them, I have my camera up there for a few seconds and then decide to tp. It gets canceled; apparently in that short distraction sniper is dead and Legion Commander came out of nowhere and is dueling me.  I die.

Backtrack a bit.  This game wasn't about me, it wasn't about sniper, it was about Legion Commander.  Our mid really wanted to be mid, he was very adamant about this.  He chose Puck.  He did not know how to play Puck. Not even a little bit.  Somehow, Legion Commander got massively fed without anyone on my team noticing or commenting on it.  I think Puck may have left the lane mostly unattended so Legion Commander got every possible last hit?  I'm not sure, but anyway.  Apparently when LC wins a duel with someone, she gains a permanent damage increase not tied to items.  i did not know this.

She goes blink dagger first.  Despite our CM's admirable warding, there wasn't much we could do to avoid getting dueled and then blasted into the ground.  Then she goes boots of travel, so even if she shows on the map you can't be safe on the other side of the map.  She gets a BKB too, so no way in hell are we going to be able to stun her down.  She snowballs so hard and fast, and people just keep trying to fight her and dying.  She wins every duel in 3 attacks or less, she's tanky and overleveled as fuck.  When the dust settles, she's six slotted and has 108 bonus damage from won duels.  To put this into perspective: there are characters that frequently reach the lategame with less attack than that.

And that's how an enemy Legion Commander went 40-0.  At least I died the least on my team...

I dug too deep, too quickly. My only equipment was a rusty sword and a glowing ring. This was woefully inadequate for the horde of moths that swarmed me. Mere steps from the stairs back to the surface, they stripped the flesh from my bones. I lost all of the expensive things I picked up (including my sword) and most of my money.

By default half of the controls are on the keyboard and half are on the joystick, but I seemed to be doing okay. I was able to turn, target enemy craft and destroy them, although there were an awful lot of "Tie fighter was destroyed" messages at the top of the screen.

Then, one of the MANY indicators started blinking, along with the message "Missile incoming! Press 'I' to target?" at the top.

Bwuh? Oh shit I need to hit the key-

And then I exploded.

When, where, what server, and what side? I've seen a few various zerg-rushes today, including a simultaneous double air-zerg by the NC against both the TR-held Bastion and that techplant in the southeast corner of the continent, I forget the name, starts with an M. The one at the Bastion was defeated, the one at the techplant turned into a vicious snipefest. ...I was at the techplant.

During that battle, I accidentally blew up a friendly Valkyrie, because it was painted blue and looked like an NC Reaver and didn't stop to think why it was landed among our own troops. I think I managed to redeem myself by immediately shooting down an enemy Galaxy.

The Flagship and I are both on 1 hull point. My trusty Ion cannon is blazing, my Pike beam and Lasers are going, and my Attack Drones are working their asses off.
But my slow decline of health finished me off when the Flagship launched a last attack at me.
I didn't even register it had happened until I saw my ship breaking apart.

And then I found out it has more than one phase.

Some means of killing crew is usually very helpful against the flagship. You can kill the guys in it's weapon systems and then break them. I don't know if it still works, but it used to be possible to just wipe out the entire crew except one guy in the laser room and they wouldn't respawn between stages.

I think it does, but the issue was my strategy wasn't "take out all the crew except one because they don't respond", it was "ion the shields, laser the weapons/engines if they're escaping, hope the drones don't miss a bunch". :P

That works pretty well too, but your defenses have to be hella robust for it. 45% evasion, cloaking and a defense drone along with at least three levels of shields usually does it.

Flagship in hard mode has little bits that make it impossible to isolate the guy in the laser section anymore. Worst case, you can isolate the beam guy and get two easy rounds and an AI flagship on the last. Or you can leave one alive in the main section to slowly repair things, but that can be dangerous as he's almost sure to die if you keep hitting whatever he is fixing.

The shade of kor pul froze me and blasted down my archmage health.
