So I've a penchant for playing on the highest difficulty because I'm a really fast learner (or so I think :v).
I'm a Clone Trooper commando, on a mission with 3 of my buddies. I soon realize that dear goodness those Super Battle Droids advertised in the film are DEADLY (instead of being 'pew pew 1-shot laser ded', as advertised :v).
I'm loving how this game keeps up orders from/for the team, and how human my teammates are! There's humor in how they regard me as leader once I'm fallen (and have to restart, so it makes silly sense: "Can I be leader now?"), and oh my goodness the fun of it all, commanding an equal-in-power team all around.

I also realized that I'm really bad with very fine motor movement in FPS games! I miss all my shots when they're just a few pixels short of my foe!

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Until I realized middle mouse button = aim. (Which lowers my amount of missing by 50%! I'm still a bad shot!)

Republic Commando is pretty difficult even on normal!  Mostly because of those super battle droids, yeah, they're freakin tanks.  I wish that melee worked on them better, instead you really just have to shoot them a *lot* or use up special ammo.  But sometimes they just keep spawning, or there's a timed objective, forcing you to rush forward and hope you have enough explosives.

Fortunately, your squad is super useful (in addition to being super cool!).  If you set one up in a sniping spot, they don't run out of sniping ammo.  Same with grenades.  So using those spots helps an awful lot.

(I want a sequel soooo bad.  There were actually some books which followed the squad, even after Order 66)
Good luck, and NEVER say no to bacta!

I have no idea how the producers didn't see the money in a sequel.

Conveniently placed Bacta :P I also love how everyone is better at shooting than I am. Especially that (unlimited) sniping! They can shoot so fast it boggles me how (if one wouldn't think of them as AI/NPC, because they're just so smart)

Republic Commando is pretty difficult even on normal!
It's reminding me that my aim adds to the difficulty. :v Even if I can adjust mouse sensitivity.

There's kickstarter? :D
I've no idea how that works. But it's there? (And others?)
I just see a ton of potential with that kind of game programming/planning. It was immersive, it was fun, and it was awesome!

EA own the rights now though, so any game will just be a CoD/Battlefield clone, and not a good one at that.

EA is pretty stupid, yeah. If they were smart they'd just produce the games and let the developers do whatever they wanted. They'd make way more money.

The one thing that annoyed me about Republic Commando is that your squadmates' stated talents never affected the gameplay. All of your squadmates are equally proficient at hacking, explosives and sharpshooting, which undermines the whole "All of your talents combined" theme.

But yeah, I wish there were a sequel set during the rise of the Empire.

The commandos have different voice actors (from what I remember) too, despite being clones.

That's funny, I'm playing through Republic Commando for the first time as well too. I switched the aim button to the Right Mouse Button as soon as I figured out how to do that. I believe you can also use the Z key to aim as well.

I think there was occasional variation between clones. A very small number of them even ended up being Force Sensitive, if I recall - despite this being supposedly completely impossible unless your name is Galen "Starkiller" Marek, in which case have fun surfing a star cruiser into a planetary shield.

Impossible how? There have been a few clones of Jedi running around with Force powers.

All of this is not canon anymore anyway. :P

Probably. I've not read the Thrawn trilogy/Outbound Flight for years.
