Had The Destroyer where it couldn't touch me. Only the probes could really attack. Then a Wyvern showed up. Then another. Then ANOTHER.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Had Spasmatism down to about 1000HP. I needed to drop down a platform to reach my Heart Statue to heal, but for some reason couldn't get down the platform. By the time I could, Spas was flamethrowering the statue, so I fled into the air. Retinazer juggled me while Spasmatism burned me.

It's all preparation. With right preparation you can comfortably beat the destroyer with Molten Armor. (At least, you could originally, maybe you need something a bit better now.)

Obviously you weren't prepared enough for the twins = \.

Actually, I was prepared for the Twins, it was just that platform derp. Not that it matters, the save is gone.

For Destroyer, what you need is a solid platform(with firing holes) at least 300 blocks in the air, and the probes(easy by themselves) are the only part of it that can get to you. Unfortunately, where I builkt it, 300 blocks in the air was also the Wyvern altitude.

I managed to beat Green Earth's factory mission after a long time of not playing the game, which meant that I could finally move on to Black Hole and complete the final missions. I completed the citadel mission easily, because Sturm has no bases to create new units, and taking out the minicannons was a matter of patience because they could only wound units. I then moved on to Final Front, where Sturm started with a huge number of bases and cities, two minicannons, and the ability to move over any terrain without being penalized, which is completely stupid. Sturm keeps pushing me back before I even have the chance to advance very far, and I have absolutely no idea how I'm supposed to complete this mission.

The best method for the Destroyer (this was in 1.1 though, I think it got fixed), if somewhat cheap, was a small solid square with a thin lining of Lava and a Heart Statue that was repeatedly activates by a pressure plate (I think, it's been a while). With high enough defense the lava would only do 1 damage to you, and with a Cobalt Shield you took no recoil. The heart statue would let you sustain, the probes were no threat, and the destroyer's body was exposed as it ran through the square. The only real way of dying was if you got incredibly unlucky (hit by its head a lot somehow) or couldn't kill it by daylight since the lava constantly triggered invincibility frames while doing next to no damage.

Pixel death. Was trying to run over a few Geth but evidently went over the hit box for the lava, despite still having pretty much the entirety of the Mako on the road.

The time limit isn't so bad because once it ticks down you don't instantly lose, you still have time to beat the level.

Yeah there's a false time limit, but then there's a real one too.
I do quite like the way you can disrupt the progress, it isn't just an arbitrary timer.  But it's definitely the hardest level in the game, and I don't think I'll ever manage to complete the original objective in time.  I've tried several times, but it's hard enough to beat the level at all.

Goddammit Peter. Why can't you stay behind lines and command your lances in safety like modern leaders?

Mechwarrior 4: Mercenaries. It's not fun trying to babysit a Davion in an assault, but I guess it's better than all those cursed escort missions in the Steiner route.

Farbor definitely requires aggressive expansion to beat. It was jarring after playing most of the game in the foolproof "turtle like hell until you can afford to push forward" style.

Relays shouldn't be exploding randomly, though. Is there small amounts of creeper packed in corners that you're trying to build near? Building close to an emitter?

Apparently Farbor is impossible. Because my FUCKING RELAYS keep dying to literally nothing. They spontaneously blow up with no creeper, spores or anything hitting them. They just explode, starving my weapons and shields of energy, causing the creeper to regain lost ground. Wouldn't be a problem if it wasn't one of those levels that every fucking strategy game loves and I hate with a passion where you have a time limit.
