Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup,roped into yet another roguelike,doomed to play for a whole month,why is it that roguelikes offer the most playtime while still keeping things entertaining? Dying all the time doesn't scare you off,it just makes you play again,and you do a little better each time,my legacy of Angband characters can prove that.

Heh, it's funny, ever since the first time one weakened me with poison and a skeleton shot me, which is how this one killed me, I've been trying to build something that can kill them without me taking the risk of fighting it. The end result was a waterfall which pulled the witch into a chamber, where a piston would slam a stone block into her head several times per second. Even that couldn't kill her, because the damage was too gradual and she just kept on regenerating.

It's still perfectly easy to kill them with swords, but that usually comes with a splash potion of poison shattering on your face.

I tried that once with a gravel trap, because I like style more than potentially easier solutions. However, the continuous suffocation still wasn't enough. I also tried the same thing with water.

Maybe I should just make another piston-based trap which shoves the victim into lava, but that would be hard, since the piston would probably push the water so it just hardens the lava, and the water's the only reliable way of forcing mobs into traps.

Still, if you wanna kill a witch, set her ass on fire.

Pistons don't push water, they remove it. As long as it's not pushing into the source block, should be fine. Though a long drop is probably the simplest way to kill a witch if you've already got a working trap.

I've been trying to implement Cheat Engine into the mix, but I fear I would just cause things to go like Rom Check Fail.

...Why should I fear that? That sounds neat.

I was gleefully preparing for the upcoming war, beefing up my army and strengthening my coastline defenses.  I had to do something else, so I saved and quit but when I tried to load the savefile the game crashed.  And again.  And again.  And again.  Not really a death, but it sure damn felt like one.
It really sucks that I can't find the damn tech-support forum too, so now I've got that entire game just sitting in my Steam library, mocking me.  ;_;
