Forgot to feed the Cauldron with useless items, and thus ran out of Loot / Health against Evil Pigwizard Gront's attacks for much magical damage.

It's that Mindcrack server that he plays on.  So it's Minecraft.  Gah, it's like there's something else around here with Creepers and Dwarves that our resident polar bear plays constantly. :P

DvZ is a pretty fun game, bar when you have the people doing suicide charges when they get one or two shot, causing dwarves to start one-shotting everything nearby.
Currently playing DvZ. Had a great moment when a dwarf staring down into the cave didn't see me as creeper walk off, and I knocked 3 players, including him, into lava.

Quaffing some fountains, since I could take the negative effects by that point. A water demon comes up. Not a big deal, I think these things go down in a couple of hits. The water demon hits me, summoning Juiblex. I decide it's prudent to run. The demon hits me once more, summoning Yeenoghu. At this point, it was clear that Nethack just wanted me to die a horrible, painful death. It got it's victory.

So no one meteors me even though I mentioned the name in the above paragraph, Nethack.

Dunno, but the stories are great.  Even if most of them are deaths. :P

Nethack and DCSS seem to be pretty popular around here, I should probably go ahead and pick at least one of them up, but I keep getting distracted by shiny things.

That's essentially what happened to me. I saw a few Nethack deaths, and decided to start playing again. I've actually gotten kind of but not really good at it.

I think many people here have nethack, and nethack stories, and even if they didn't nethack is capable of spitting a funny death out within minutes of gameplay if you get (un?)lucky enough.

I once had a game of nethack where I died in the first room because it contained 3 stonefall traps.

The level eight enemy scout lead a force of four swordsmen into my province, steamrolled my recruit guards, and engaged my level four commander, promptly steamrolling him and his mixed force of pikemen, swordsmen, and a crossbowman. Where the fuck do they keep getting level 6+ swordsmen from?

Was destroying the crap out of tons of velociraptors by running them over in my tank. I see a T-rex, blast it until dead. Then suddenly WHAM! A triceratops comes out of nowhere and suddenly my tank is in the sky.

It's free on Steam right now. I'd recommend playing with some friends, though, it's a bit hard.
