I stab them in the spine with my pike, then kick their skull in. Rinse and repeat.

If your weapons are in your bag, simply 'r'emove them and they end up in your hands.....Ta-dah~!

You can actually end up holding a full armory in your 2 hands...don't know if it has negative stat effects aside from weight issues though.

In other words - cheat. ;)

Back on topic: my new fighting style is holding them down and biting them to death. Quesla is now a Master Biter, so that should be fun.

In group vs group I try to give every enemy a serious injury before picking them off.  If the enemy leader is tough I either grapple their weapon or try to cut their weapon hand off.

I wield my best spear and every shield or buckler I can find.

...it's not cheating, it's just very, very strong fingers!

When alone

Against a Group-- Throw one or two objects, then run in circles and just keep running into random guys, letting the game decide what I do.

Against one-- Throw objects until we meet. Stab in the upper chest till I hit heart or a lung, then attempt to cut off and part of both the left and right arms. If they run, I try to make them bleed, for later stalking after, or stab at their legs. After their arms are gone, I grapple their throat, strangle, and shield bash their skull open.

With a group

Against a group -- Wait. Maybe go kill the archers with the against a group stratagie from earlier.

Against one(this is usually some form of megabeast by now)--- Charge full, force. Stab for the chest, then swing for the head. Rinse and repeat.

Hydras-- Wait. They annoy me. (bring a lot of guys)

Dragons-- Sneak around. Let my group soak up any dragon fire, and most of the agro, slowly make my way to the opposite side of whatever the dragon seems to be maiming. Then charge and stab for the head. Killed two with one swing so far. Only lost two companions.

Titans-- That are completely retarded, like a rock man with no eyes, mouth, and just a horn for a face. Start at the bottom and break my way up. That specific case ended with me smashing off his last lower body, while a crossbowmen smashed his upper body, and a mace man destroyed the only thing left, his stupid faceless head.

Anything different- Just adapt, or die? My next adventurer will learn the lesson.

Strangle -> kick in head. Works for humans and goblins and other stuff that pass out on the first strangle. Used for high priority targets that need to go down fast, usually archers.

Grab head -> gouge eyes -> decapitate with knife. Used on bogeymen. Doesn't work on bogeymen without eyes, and usually takes a few slashes.

Grab weapon -> throw weapon back at them -> work on them. When I want to have fun with small weapon using targets.

Stealth -> throw snow, soil, rocks, etc. at target until they stop moving. Bigger things, like titans and night creatures.

My first .17 adventurer (spearwoman demigod) usually went for the legs or the head if possible.

With my previous adventurer was an axewoman hero with superhuman agility and average everything else, that used a great axe and then a halberd along with a shield. I set combat preference to "charge" and defense to "stand ground". Usually she'd charge the opponent to knock them over (which surprisingly, in spite of her average size, tended to work, even against a night creature) to stun and slow them down, compensating for her terrible weapon accuracy, a result of huge weapons and average strength, through sheer number of attacks. This had the bonus of raising the Fighter, Axeman, and Shielduser skills quite rapidly.

When in a group battle, she stayed hidden at the beginning. If the enemy had ranged units visible she'd sneak up and kill them (ironically, she died when facing a group with three bowman, and I had her start with the grunts instead of the leader who sniped her neck).
If they didn't, she'd get in front of her bowman and the enemy, then attack as the enemy comes past.
When in a fray, she'd try to knock over as many enemies as possible.

Hmm. I also found a style I quite like that involves lots of throwing people on the ground and curb stomping them until they die. I also like to keep souvenir toes but that's nothing new.

How do you curbstomp?

Just a kick aimed at the head when the opponent is on the ground.

Really, most people just picture it as a curbstomp, it's probably closer to kicking their head like it's a soccer ball.

In addition to the choke>strangle>curbstomp tactic, I've found that for larger (night) creatures who you can't strangle into unconsciousness it's very effective to grab their head and gouge out their eyes.  Then they sort of sit around dumbly waiting to have their lungs skewered.  Or my adventurer to rip their head off with her teeth. ...she did this twice in a row.  On night creatures.  :o

Oh, and make sure dodging and agility are high, or random arrows kill you, I've discovered.  Also some companions cannon fodder is useful to distract groups.  And keep the bogeymen away.

How do you capitalize on latching on when biting? Like, is there a way to ensure that I'll shake them around? I get the message that i latched on, but there's no way to control it in the wrestling menu, and if i just "walk into" the enemy I might shake them around, but I might also just automatically punch them or stab them or release grip or something.

Help would be appreciated, since I plan on being a biter/kickmaster

Fight? I like pouring all my points into ambusher and just taking weapons right out of unsuspecting bandits' hands, along with all the loot.

Little advice though, DON'T try to sneak around a hydra's lair. They have really high natural observation skill...

Either move into them (will shake them for about two to four turns), or use the wrestling menu once you've latched on (can shake indefinitely, afaik).

The annoying thing about biting, is that it doesn't always tell you when you lose your grip.
So moving towards them isn't a great idea if you're torturing them, trying to bite off their extremities one by one, like my elf character... Because always end up smacking 'em in the head with a mace, finishing them off. :(
