Is there any shop anywhere that sell something better than bronze equipment?

Yes - Just go from town to town and youll find them. Mostly Dwarvern towns and human cities stock them for me.

If you raid a lost fort (from dwarf mode) which made such things.

Since nobody has anything better than bronze, and most opponents are hardly armoured at all, I don't see the lack of superior weaponry as much of an issue.

...although, really...the amount of times by "bronze scimitar" glanced harmlessly off someone's pants or gloves is depressing. So maybe better weapons might have a point.
