Seriously, you're building a buisiness and you don't know what it does?
This screams .com bubble to me. You wanna be really careful with this.

But, I also don't think it's a bad idea. My first questions to try and help you on your way though..

1. What do you have an interest in?
2. What do you have connections in?
And, finally...
3. What are you good at?

See, you guys are thinking inside the box.

You need to think outside the box.

The guy at the seminar told me so.

If you're working through a company, don't they have any guidelines for you?

If you're looking for an easy "Sell this make money" idea they're pretty much taken. What kind of product do you want to focus on? You could do something oddball like woot, selling overstocked or discounted merchandise you're able to get from warehouses, etc. Whatever you do, you'll need contacts. You can't just go to wal-mart, buy some stuff, and resell it online for a profit.

Anything I want to buy online I can get from amazon.com.  :o

Seriously, the only things I don't buy from big outlets are quirky/creative things like stuff from thinkgeek or t-shirt designs. I don't even look at small e-business online stores unless they have something pretty unique.

My mom works for a fairly successful fabric company that almost exclusively sells its product through eBay.  Doesn't sound like the kind of thing you'd enjoy though.

Quirky things you can't find elsewhere. Like what?

And frankly I don't care if its handmade soap or retro PC games.

This isn't the best place to fish for free market research, really. You're asking us to come up with a unique idea or product for you to sell... if I could think up something like that I'd sell it myself. I certainly wouldn't give it to you.

I wish you well, and hope you figure something out.

Actually I've got a lot more than I'm letting on myself. I'd need to talk to Toady, but I'd be happy to give anyone here a discount on big-ticket items they were getting anyway (new laptop for example) and then send a portion of my revenue to Toady for the 'referral'.

Nikov. Run a mail order wife business. You have plenty of experience in the realm of having a wife, and could help the less fortunate.

This! Based on banner ads, you might think the market is saturated already, but let me tell you that many of those are scams. I sent them my credit card information 2 months ago and they have yet to Fed-Ex me my Russian bride.
