Try to ally with a bigger country, like Bohemia or Austria. France might try something.

France actually seem to really like me, even sending money during wars when I have the higher income. Also, I've been gently bribing them occasionally.

Given your badboy, it's probably time to cool off for a while.  That excellent ruler will make it a speedy process though.  You can probably build a glorious monument or two to speed the process along.  Given the year and the fact that you should steer clear or wars for a while, I think the new world beckons.  Switch one of your ideas to QFTNW.

The badboy's mostly due to the recent wars, but the recent patch isn't helping any due to my having "unlawful imperial territory", giving a lovely big yearly increase to it. I should probably release some countries as vassals. With any luck, I'll get Cuba, although it's going to take a while to get to the Americas due to fairly low naval tech.

Good to see the Glorious Dutch are emerging as a major power!  It seems like a little bit of peace until the next opportunity for annexation falls into our laps.  How likely is it that we could eventually take out a major power, such as France or England?  I'm talking long term here, not a few months down the road, of course.

Also, what's our plan for colonization, when that shows up?  Can I be Duke of Canada?  >.>

Colonisation's likely to be the next major goal, especially setting up the Dutch version of the East Indian Trading Company. I'll mostly be shooting for anything rich that's left when we get there. As for taking out major powers, we're highly unlikely to be doing that any time in the next few centuries, if ever.

Heh, there WAS a Dutch India Company (not what it was called, but still) so that's a little funny.

Also, the slider restrictions are not concrete, so you can change it, but you get more bad stuff happening o3o

Finally, go after Norway. Bloody Norwegians. (Seriously, go after the Centers of Trade... Maybe you should only do that for mercantilism... Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.)

If you want CoTs, Lubeck is always a nice one. Lubeck, Antwerpen, and Venezia are the three best CoTs within Europe- or at least in my opinion, but I believe Lubeck is closer to you.

This isn't really dead, it's just a good actor. Anyway, it's on hold until Divine Wind arrives on Steam, likely to be sometime in January. If HttT saves are playable in DW, then we will continue. If not, voting's open for a new country.

Just to put my vote forward, as a just incase precaution, I vote Ireland, or(since I don't have the game myself and I'm not 100% sure) something that is part of Ireland.

As of the 1399 start, there's 4 Irish kingdoms (Munster, Tyrone, Connacht and Leinster), with the 5th section if Ireland taken by England. Forming Ireland is doable, if insanely difficult. Or I could take Munster and recreate my pre-HttT Irish landgrab, which basically consists of getting to America first and colonising everything in sight. The former route is likely to be short and war-torn, with the latter being long and fairly peaceful, until we're huge and go take Ireland back.

I just played a match of DW, playing a French Minor (didn't go so well), but anyway, England kind of blew up. Scotland took the top 4 provinces, Wales got one province and Cornwall got the lower Welsh province (NOT cornwall, ironically) and various other countries took coastal provinces. Various Irish minors were besieging Meath, but no one took it, though I'm sure a human in that situation could have.

So, you have to have some luck and a major England gang-bang, but it happens more in DW then in HttT, so..

Yeah, I've seen England/Great Britain collapse occasionally. It's rare in the early stages of the game, but it happens.
