I had the same thing happening to me. I went to sleep without permission and woke up in the dead of the night. As I tried to go to sleep again, "The Lady" called out and asked if she could help. I asked if I could sleep the night and she said yes.

I woke up in a room where she was, along with ten other people.

Must've been helluva party.

A quick scan of the stocks menu shows that one of the dead pack animals has a bin full of silk cloth!  It is speedily unforbidden, and my moody glassmaker sprints off to retrieve his prize amongst the smoking, charred, blood-soaked ruin that is the outdoors, totally oblivious to the carnage that was instigated on his behalf.

I had this same problem trying to sleep in an armor shop.  I got permission from the shop keeper and took an 8 hr nap on his floor.  woke up somewhere outside in the middle of the night, and couldnt find my way back to the shop.

not sure if its a bug, i had recently been fighting night-creature spouses and at one point while i was traveling it zoomed me back into the local map and a popup told me that I had an "uneasy feeling" or something like that.

maybe I was sleep walking due to some sort of night creature infection?

An "uneasy feeling" means you are "almost ambushed" by something.

Toady typically doesn't do things by half measures.  As evidenced by turning "make hauling work better" into "implement mine carts with physics".
There are many issues with this statement.

I have a feeling this is because it unloads the site before you sleep, and gets confused about where you were when it puts you back in.  It's happened to me a number of times.

I actually prefer this with fortresses as they are a pain in the posterior to leave.  So I'd rather the fix be to make the bug universal.

Happened to me as well but it was about Dawn when i asked permission to sleep in the local Elven Hamlet. Also woke up outside...freakin' Elves threw out!

Still, I find this to be an interesting bug(?)/sleepwalking experience...
