Dwarves living like humans... So we can get dwarf armor...
« on: November 12, 2010, 02:18:19 pm »

I thought I saw someone mention elsewhere that if you set a civ up that functions like humans but have a different body size, it allows you to buy said proper sized armor...

Anyone test this in .17 to see if it's true.

I'd start them on like a shrubland  or something so as to not entirely encrouch on the humans,  but have them have the rest of the stuff as dwarves.... except Default Site would be a city can entity races have two or more word names?

Yeah, I thought about adding Hill Dwarves just for this reason. Maybe it's just about time.

Let me know how it goes... if it works I may have to make my own group for a new world.

Is it weird I would just want them as trading mules, instead of actually playing as em...

And from a role playing standpoint...if you care...they could simply be a part of dwarf society that decided to trade for a living and as such left the underground to live more like humans...leaving the antisocial dwarfs back home

Yeah,  from a role playing stand point I was trying to decide between "exiles" (That you can trade with >.>)   or Just a separate group who like the sun instead of the darkness... or like some of my forts, settled in an open area and dug down only to realize it's easier to live above ground.

Another quick question,   What are all the "Default Start" Biomes available for modding into Entities

I think it can be any biome except oceans and caves, but I'm not sure.

Actually pre- .13  (so .12)  The wizards (from Wizard's Tower mod) start biome was set as oceans they built on shores, and sometimes with magical floating buildings

Yeah, if you set water biomes, the sites will be on the shores.

Yet another question,  besides Caste names, can Entity's have a two name names, or do they all have to be one?   Like  "Bayou Dwarves" or would it be like "bayoudwarves"

it should be one, but why do you care? You don't see the entity name anywhere. It's used in the code only.

Okay good to know, but I meant,  like if I wanted to run into them while adventuring and wanted them named as "Bayou dwarves" would have to do anything different, however I took a peek inside the civ forge mod and saw how they handled the high-elves so I did a form of that.

You have to change the name of the creature for that to happen. The entity name is completely unrelated.
