Dwarven Adventures : Hunt for the Drow King.
« on: November 12, 2010, 10:56:04 am »

Disaster!

The queen has been abducted by a foul Drow raiding party lead by their King, Curse them!

Fear not, though, for the best Dwarven rangers picked up their tracks and the hunt began.
For several weeks the united might of many Dwarven clans has hunted them relentlessly, and it paid off.
The Drow are now trapped in a vast expanse of tunnels and caverns, each exit sealed by a clan. Now it is only a matter of time before our hammers strike between those filthy pointy ears.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Now, all the players will assume the role of a Dwarven Lord and his company of warriors.
Each player will begin with an army of 50 hardy dwarves, 2 wagons with 1000 units of food in them (500 in one and 500 in the other)and a burning desire to rip some drow heads.

A Turn equals a day.
You may only move one square per turn. (Any adjacent square)
Every day each dwarf consumes 1 unit of food.

You may also return to your starting position, It will allow you to restock on food if you are running low.

All you need to do is tell me the name of your Clan and provide me with the color of your banner.

Now, gentledwarves, let the Hunt for the Drow King begin.

I have absolutely no idea what's going on in this fort any more. Migrants arrive, they die for some reason, the fort is flooded for another reason, then dwarves go mad, more dwarves die and I'm just laughing in my distress.

Seem's like a good group of players so far. All we're missing is RP Fluff!

Clan Name: The Axes of Mourning
Lord's Name: Dwim the Grudge-Bearer

History: The Axes were founded after The Sacking destroyed the first and greatest of the Dwarven mountainhomes, nearly 2500 years ago. The scattered survivors of all the clans banded together and began to crusade againt any and all enemies of Dwarvenkind. Today, the Axes of Mourning accept any and all, outcasts, traitors or the aggrieved-any who seek glorious death as a purging of dishonor.

Tactics: The mourning do not linger outside of battle-they charge straight in, trademark orange-steel axes swinging wildly. As such, they personally refuse to handle ranged weapons such as slings or bows, though they often hire mercenaries for it. Though they are not as numerous as the other clans, Dwarven Death Priests and Armok's chosen are also common in the Mourning's forces, and they often fully enjoy magical and physical protection provided. Unlike most Dwarves, they rarely laugh and sing on the march-only funeral dirges, for those they have lost, and for their enemies..

Force Composition
1 Dwarven Lord
20 Dwarven Axemen
12 Crossbowdwarves
1 Recorder of Grudges
10 Armok's Chosen
5 Rune Priests
1 Rune Lord

Ok, 7 clans will do.

Could you all update your posts with the name of you Lord?

Turn 0.

Map.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The exits are sealed by armed forces and fortified positions, no other but a dwarf can now leave those caverns.

Lords, where do you wish to begin your search?
