Well ok I don't want players walking out.

Consider your turn accepted.
I'm willing to go along with the assumption I just can't do it yet.

It's just when peeps put up walls in these games with no potential to surpass them that it bugs me.

I know what you mean, in fact looking at other RTDs I should really of put this in Forum Games and made a system up with more freedom.

Herp derp. Sorry all; was at the hospital yesterday, and their wifi sucks balls.

um... In my quarters, I pour over the blueprints of my ship, making sure I know my own weaknesses. Also, I chat up the other pilots in a friendly manner.

RTDs can be pretty regimented; but hey, you're the GM; do what feels right.

"I see...well, backup is always good."

I hear the order come in through the intercom, and I sigh. "Great, I come all the way here just to get pulled away again...well, thanks for the info."

I head to the crew quarters.

you're doing fine you however must study other RTD's you can look at mine for example and give them a bit more freedom. a plot is good and all but people dislike the idea of being stuck to only following the plot.

Well thats the problem, at like turn 2 I decided that RTD was really NOT for what I had in mind. I'm kinda wanting to stop this and add it to my "Should of thought a little more before starting pile" I've realised that I've been just throwing things up and hoping they'll work but I've got sonething that would DEFINATLY work as an RTD...

dunno how that works actualyl but im thinking of non-fighting actions always succeed (more story writing here and consequences) and fighting actions will be rolled because it ain't fun if you manage to do a triple barrel roll while shooting the hyperengine of their mommaship WHILE avoiding everything 24/7!

PLEASE do not stop doing this. It's tons of fun. one way you could deal with it is just have the RTD style rolling for complex skills (taking off would not require a roll, for example) or those that actually require luck. On top of this you might have skills that change your hitbox for sucess, such as having a +1 to piloting. these would be rare, however.
So, all in all...
Please don't go. The drones miss you. They look up to you :'(
