The New Combat System

Is it just me, or does the new combat system make you feel like a COMPLETE Psychopath? No matter how you attack, the meticulous way you piece it together just adds a touch of savagery i dont think was present before.
I mean, you can rip someones throat out with your teeth!

Well, if you're an unarmed fighter then there are two ways that you finish off people. Curb stomping them or strangling them.

It's so frickin cool.

Or ripping them to shreds of course - But you need a good wrestling/striking skill for that :p

Some of the opportunity strikes are just hilarious.

In the middle of fierce battle, the idea suddenly strikes me that I can bite this guy in the nose, really hard. So I do. I end up shaking him around by his nose.

How exactly do you do targeted strikes? The highest degree of targeting I can get done is "head" in melee, but there's no way of shooting out "eyes" with a crossbow :(

Meeeh...I just had to bash a bunch of humans to death with their own shields because I couldn't just do an execution-style crossbow shot. Crossbowman is unhappy  :(

That is when you take your entire stack of bolts in one hand and stab them in the throat with them.

And remember, hit * and / to flip through pages of targeting options.  What you want to hit may be on page 2.

Just noticed the multiple pages thingy. Thanks for mentioning it  :D
Still...very disappointed about the lack of targeted shots. I now just hack pieces off of people with scimitars :(

Would it be possible to be an effective combatant dual wielding shields and become a misc. O. user?

Yes, yes it is. But thats just strange

Also, scratching peoples eyes out is quite lucrative

From what i could tell, having two shields helped alot with multiple attackers, but with a single attacker it was no different to just using one shield. Also, shield strikes can push people back quite reliably

But not to worry, i took about 30 strikes from the three guys before one cut my hand off
And thusly, my blood was shed.
