I've grown attached to one of my companions, but he broke a rib. How do I heal his rib? is there a doctor I can go to ? And do companions level up like other people do?

they heal just like you (over time)....although I have found that if they are sufficiently injured (I think broken legs and the such) then they will disappear (perhaps they cant keep up).

Yes they level up as well
