Strange Planet RTD: Turn 3
« on: November 12, 2010, 02:03:46 am »

Alright, this fell through last time I tried, (which was a long time ago, before RTD got it's own forum)

The ship's engine has failed. It survived re-entry unharmed due to it's nigh-indestructible hull, but the power is failing as well, and you'll all be sitting in blackness before too long. The ship's surface access port won't open without power, and something is blocking distress signals. The blast shield on the view port is down, and you have no idea what's out there.

Better to die in the ocean than live in a tuna can.
---
The mission was originally going to be a rotation of duties between scientists on an academy space station, so everyone will basically choose a scientific field and a few instruments (sci-fi or not) that would make sense to have. You don't have to know anything about that field, just BS your way through it like you're on Star Trek. Even made up scientific fields are fine.

This is going to use the normal RTD rules, which I'm sure you're all familiar with. It'll be fairly light hearted with some possible badassery in it. Please use common sense when posting your actions, and any magic powers are highly unlikely to work.
---
Once I get about five people I'll start. Others can join anytime, but no more than eight.

Not only is it not actually advertising anything, it's just copy/pasting word salads about gold, runescape, oil, yuan, and handbags.  It's like a transporter accident combined all the spambots into one shambling mass of online sales.

As it turns out, the pen was in fact a poor choice for melee combat in comparison to the sword.
So I just started playing this game and I accidentally nuked the moon.

Turn 1

The lights in the impact pod are going dim, you are separated from the main ship by a 4 foot thick powered door. The communicator works, but there is no response from outside. At one point, you heard a banging come from a room nearby, but not for what feels like an hour. With the power running low, you will be out of oxygen in around two hours. There is no food or water here.

In the room are two reinforced storage crates with your instruments in them, an air purifier, an unpowered access panel to the main ship, and four fluorescent lights.

If ERIC's attempt at recharging the panel works, hit it. We need to get the hell out of here.
