Consciousness. Dim awareness, gradually growing, then-

Pain.

The moment your mind is able to process this basest of all demons, it hits you like a brick wall from all directions. The pain is new, fresh and pungent, with a delicate underlying tone of an ache seemingly as ancient as life itself.

You try to go back to sleep, give up before you even try, but the instinct of life is too strong within you. Though your mind is broken, your body refuses to yield. Your eyes slowly creak apart.

It is dark, a shiny, bare metal illuminated by a blaring light coming from below you. You wonder why you are here, what you're supposed to be doing, and why god why are you in so much pain?

Cryogenic chambers? Also, this doesn't really sound like an RTD game, but I'll give it a shot.

Okay, its like a single player RTD then.

I have absolutely no idea what's going on in this fort any more. Migrants arrive, they die for some reason, the fort is flooded for another reason, then dwarves go mad, more dwarves die and I'm just laughing in my distress.

? ? ?:
Try to alleviate the offensive nerve endings' stress.
Block out pain using shear will power
(Roll: 5)

You vaguely remember a way to alleviate pain through sheer will, but that was a time now shrouded in the haze of forgotten memory. As the pain continues, however, you do get more and more used to it and your mind goes slowly from a base fog of pain to a limitedly functional organ.

Damiel Corojan:
Examine surroundings better with my eyes.
(Roll: 2)

You turn your neck slowly, which cracks and resists the movement like a rusted cog. You are definitely within a metal chamber, but it has obviously been severely compromised. As your head turns toward the source of the damage, you notice a lot of bloody red staining the walls. You look straight down and see a tan-suited body crushed under a heavy plate of sharp, ruined metal and partially covered in sand.

You realize that it is yours.

Theodore Sanford:
Attempt to sit up and find out where I am.
(Roll: 7)

The metal surrounding you is too close to allow you to sit up to your full height, but it is sufficient to shift yourself around quite easily, even with the pain. Above and around you is nothing but darkened metal, with a few interesting circuits jutting into view. Below you, however, is a gnarly hole partially blocked by a wall of sand.

See if any of my limbs are functional.

Also, you forgot Maxicaxi's action, even though he seems to have thought this was a single player RTD.

And now I'm confused.

I was hoping for a single player RTD type thing, like... umm... that one thing from before.

:/

It still looks singleplayer to me, those descriptions match each other somewhat.

I try to find another way out of here. I also bang on the walls and yell for help, just in case. If I can't find another way out, I'll try digging through that hole.
