Boogeymen are far from invincible, my swordsman killed two by stabbing their lower bodies and decapitating them, aimed attacks ftw. Juts don't let them crowd on you.

I always butchered them, until one got lucky and punched me and bruised my heart, then I died. They seem to be pretty strong, but manageable usually. Does add a lot of fun

My latest and best character dies just now.  After a series of successful quests, time caught up to him and his band who were killed one by one.  While heading for home, my character was ambushed and had his last stand against four kobolds; the very first hit punctured his lung, and he fought on until suffocation despite the mortal wound.

I run solo.
The only solution there is to wait until morning to kill the bandit encampment (their numbers keep the bogeys at bay?)

That or get such good stealth that the Bogeys don't see you. But that is hard, they have good observation.
I see multiple Bogeys here, they seem to not notice the Urist behind them, am I clear to shoot? (because Bogey in army-language means hostiles...heh)

Watch out, They have good observation, it seems. At Legendary ambusher, they still spot me if I remain within 3 tiles of them for too long (read: any time at all). You'll get a message, though, if they break your sneak.

Bogeymen are hard?

I just killed a group of 5 of them, by just biting their shit off.
Okay, I was a elven demigod and thus pretty fast, but their arms, wings, antennas and heads went fairly fast for my theeth.

Probably part of the difficulty difference is that since the different bogeymen are randomly generated, they also are generated with different skills.   Some of the the ones I run into (in different worlds) are capable of of dancing around every attack you throw at them and others just stand there and let you stab them.

Not to mention a properly made demigod character with various attributes min/maxed is a ridiculously lot stronger than a peasant or hero adventurer.

I kill boogeyman as a hero type characte with minimun training given I have a good agility stat and an edged weapon. Juts don't let them crowd you and run like hell when you start getting tired.

If they're dodging your attacks change combat preferences to charging they're not so quick once they're tumbling backwards. Also mortal wounds from bruising give you huge amount of time before collapsing.
One of those ghostly Bruce Lee's had kicked my human hammerer in the heart and I went on rampage, I managed to kill four beasts by hammering them till they got pierced by hammer and then went to sleep. In the morning mortal wound proved to be just a bad dream.

I hate those bastards. *nothing* I try against them works. I can hardly even bruise them, no matter what I throw/fire/hack with at them  >:(

Not a troll, not some basement-dwelling neckbeard, but indeed a hateful, rude little person. On the internet.
I'm actually quite nice IRL, but you people have to pay the price for that.

Now stop being distracted by the rudeness, quit your accusations of trollery, and start arguing like real men!

Same here, I only managed to kill one with a lucky strike. 99% of the time I miss, though if I charge every turn I can keep them on the ground.
The little fuckers can swim too. I swam all night to get away once, hacking my way through walls of fish. They're slightly slower than a novice swimmer.

Everyone saying they're really easy, Bogeymen are randomly created when you gen the world. That includes their toughness, skill levels, and even limbs.

So yes, yours may be easy. Others are exceedingly hard.
