I don't think you'll need a spaceship to explore that cloud.  I mean, just look at it.

As horribly overplayed as I think his stylizing has become, I have to respect H.P. Lovecraft.  He imagined a universe where things bigger than comprehension were moving around in space threatening to obliterate humanity at a moment's notice without even realizing it.  It's extraordinary how often we find giant, mind-numbingly deadly looking things in outer space.

This is coming out of the center of the galaxy, not the universe. And inside the center of the milky way is a supermassive black hole around which the whole galaxy orbits :D
