They're new.

I just killed the spouse of the midnight crone, a two-tailed lizardman.  It was pretty intense, those bastards take a lot of damage.  There were two of us versus him and after like 15 minutes of fighting I swung at him, he "scrambled away" and I chopped him in half.

anyone found shops?
Yeah, and they got pretty signs at the doors, too.
Also, even the lowliest peasant is armed with at least a knife.

I wonder ... is it smart amunition or dumb amunition?

They're the same size as houses now it seems, and the one I found had a drunk, and some other people just lazing about inside... a least the owner was a blacksmith, which actually makes sense.

The shops appear as yellow bars on the minimap.

EDIT: I am mistaken, just look for the signs outside the houses.

I noticed when you talk to people in their homes you can ask them to stay for the night. Maybe that prevents attacks from... them?

They are bogeymen, after all...lurking in the shadows, emerging only to strike, and hiding themselves again when they sense your cold, hard iron thirsting for their blood.

Wow. Love the new wrestling menus. But am suspecting wrestling is a also bit broken stronger in general this release. What with the attacks of opportunity, I'm betting a fighter/wrestler could be pretty formidable.

Toady typically doesn't do things by half measures.  As evidenced by turning "make hauling work better" into "implement mine carts with physics".
There are many issues with this statement.

While on the travel map, the sun moving across the sky at the top of the screen is a pretty nice addition.

Precursor to kung-fu =3

EDIT: Speaking of that, I hope when he adds that.. quarterstaves.

Can you disarm in this version?

I'm finding combat both enrossing but awesomely hard.  I've tried on 3 lives now to complete the first dinky outlaw mission solo and had my brains punished each time.  The directed attacks are so awesome tho, way to go Toady.
