DF 31.17 Adventure Mode Impressions
« on: November 11, 2010, 02:26:43 pm »

DF 31.17 is out!

And the first thing I notice? "choose: peasant/hero/demigod"
Variable starting points!
EDIT: also, Attributes to spread points around in.
I have to choose my kinesthetic sense?
I can make a spoony bard with "legendary musical sense" and no points in endurance?
What, pray tell, does Social Skills affect?

Should be fun! (and Fun!)

What stands out with the new version for you all?

Toady typically doesn't do things by half measures.  As evidenced by turning "make hauling work better" into "implement mine carts with physics".
There are many issues with this statement.

My guy moves twice for every step I take >:c

Other than that it's bitchin'

Also, it looks like they zoomed the travel map in, a half day's travel is like two or three screens.

I assume Demigod gets the most.

Nah, peasant gets the most :/

Uuugh, I hate this double move thing I'm getting, it's really irritating!

Mm.

I'm genning a new world. There's a few more variables to toy with.

My only concern is whether or not I edited the raws to play as a Kobold right. I would've copypasta'd from an earlier version, but that'd make a bunch of stuff go away.

I must admit to some curiosity about the exact mechanics each attribute affects. I am dumping musicality entirely until someone explains how I can use it to soothe savage beasts.

Were bogeymen in this game before?  I don't ever remember them.
