I loved the ice storm in 2009. Power down, everything closed, nobody on the streets, great sheets of ice coating everything. I spent a whole week at home reading books by candlelight with my wife, who was 6 months pregnant, boiling water at my neighbor's house who had gas and bringing home hot meals from the church.

My breath misted in my bedroom this morning.

Once I spent a morning in December without power in my house with an extension cord running from my tenant to my office, powering the computer and the coffee pot during the pre-dawn hours while my breath fogged up the monitor. I found it crazy fun.

I always love the October cold here in North Carolina. Unfortunately, that's over and I am now dealing with annoying almost-freezing temperatures and a lot of cold rain. Get colder damnit! I want snow, and I want it now!

I woke up and it's pouring down rain.
Now, it's stopped, but it's still cloudy and a little cool.
Ye gods, I love the rainy season.

I hate cold.

I so hate cold. I can endure any heat and i love my showering water scalding. But even some numb fingers can drive me crazy.

It`s now often around 0°C here in germany and whenever i have to go outside i rage and want to kill babies. I don`t want to know what happens once the whole land freezes over.

On the bright side; Today the sun shone and it was quite pleasant.

Sounds like you would live it here in Southern California. In the lowlands (read:not in the mountains), it can get into the 30s (Fahrenheight) at night in the winter but it never gets cold enough to actually snow. Temperatures in the 40s and 50s are more typical for winter. It does snow in the mountains of course.

Also, who doesn't like hot showers in the winter :)

Its snowing outside.

Fuck.
I'll trade with you. You like schizophrenic weather patterns that just-almost-but-never get to snowing, right?

I've been in California for nearly all of my life, it's just the local climate. And its not as shizophrenzic as you think.

Although the climate HAS been a bit wierd this year.

Err...I'm in North Carolina, not Califonia.

I thought you were side responding to me, so I responded to you since your post somehow seemed related to my post just above.
