I agree with the library, usually a solid building and plenty of bookshelves to barricade entrances with and the books to learn new things from (i.e. Construction-For-Dummies). Also can't be taken out with one well placed RPG to the support structure.

Zombies avoiding the cathedral...

We need to find out what buildings in town were built by Stonecutters Freemasons.

I would also like to say that people who seriously prepared for a Zombie Apocalypse tend to be either CRAZY or expecting it for good and rational reasons. And the only good and rational reason to expect a Zombie Apocalypse is because you are going to cause one. I am filled with suspicion.

I would add my support for investigating the library, with the additional stipulation that we ransack it for every book even remotely related to the occult, mysticism, and the End Times.

Well, we're going to need some more food.  I'll join the team's journey to the library, but then walk on over to the diner and scout the place out for food supplies.  I also recommend we stick it out in the water tower for at least one more night.  Yes, we're rather easy to spot, but now we're basically like a castle with one entrance and an extremely defensible keep.  We could probably hold out on the top with sharp sticks if we needed to; imagine how easy it is to hold off zombies climbing a ladder.  And a massive enough pile of zombies probably isn't going to happen over the course of one night (imagine building a wall the height of a water tower in that time, nearly impossible).

Join the quest for the fabled libary of books and look for cats on the way. Why? I train them to sit on me and follow until I look like some sort of elderitch cat abomination. Oh and I also look for books on martial arts using staves E.T.C. so I can be more useful in combat with my knife-broom.

I agree wholeheartedly with the library, and using my stealth and navigation skills I will see how defensible it will be.
As usual I shall drive the group to where they want to go (aka the library) and while there I shall scout around and inside it, to get a feel for it's layout and defensive values (aka look for entrances, low windows, second storys, thickness of the doors and walls ect.)

(herp derp) I've been out of the house a lot latley, sorry guys. Will update the thread this evening, if I get the chance and am still lucid.

EDIT: i've updated your stocks, in the form of GOOGLE

and I've stopped caring about weight, unless you're carrying, like, an oven.  You're going to be out of food if you don't collect some today.  ...or use the animals.

If we lack food, I'll fast and meditate to hone my wits for the hunt to come. The vermin hunt, of course.

Dawn: You head off to the LIBRARY, and Frelock walks over to the DINER.
Quip is looking for BOOK:COMBAT. Kilakan is examining the defenses of the structure. Monk12 is looking for BOOK:OCCULT. Frelock is looking for FOOD. Thre rest of you are looking out and providing combat support.

Frelock: (rum4*2)6,4 HO BOY! You sneak into the Diner without a sound, past a very dead chef, and into the walk-in fridge-it's lost power, but it's still plenty cold.  JACKPOT! The Boar's Head lables read "victory" to you. You clear out the diner, loading up the van - it takes 2 trips. +73 FOOD!  - of course, about 50% of that is perishable, and without a way to keep it cold...

Quip (rum3*2)4,1 You find "The World Encyclopdeia of Martial Arts: Vol.1-3" in the oversized section. In your excitment, you knock over a cabinet into yourself! (ref1) OW. HP-1. BOOK:COMBAT +3

Kilakan (LUK2) 3 You don't see anything terribly weak... there are some emegengy exits on the ground floor, one from the basement, one on the second floor, and one from the roof. They don't have handles on the outside, except for the roof exit. There is a fire escape. The windows, on both floors, are 5*2 feet tall slits. Standard red brick and mortar. The main entrance is a wide glass door, though. It will need to be fortified. There is a double-door on the back, like a loading bay. It can be barred from within.  The building also has a number of security cameras, both inside and out, all CCTV to a security room.

Monk12: (rum2*2) 5,1 . You walk up to the counter and ask the librari-OHSHI! (martial arts1)6! In a flash, you slam the zombie's head into the magnetic strip, and then hurl it headlong into the computer monitor! It sheiks once, and lays still, glass and sparks tinkling to the floor. You wander around in the occuly/philosophy section, to find that a large number of occultism books are missing. There are some scraps of paper here - one of them has the text "999 DER" "939 CHA" and "792 HAS". another scrap: "572 WES". One more reads "Liber Ivonis" and "vault code 13L9". The last: "Uthur's Lapis Tablet, shard #13-22 @ library under 'Morgan Victors'" "Ask for Dr Warren 314 Adam blvd; bring shard #8."

(lots of 5s): The rest of you find that the bookshelves are all backed, and could be easily adapted into FORTIFICATION SUPPLIES, along with the books, if needed. There is a basement to this building... it is a keypad accsess. A security guard is nailed to the wall beside the door - a thin silver smallsword through his heart, almost to its hilt. A few quick hits with your melee weapons has cleared the structure of the few zombies within.

It is mid-afternoon. You have 1.5 actions before DUSK.

EDIT:
Tornok: 4 - you find BOOK:FORTIFICATION
Jetsquirrel:6. YOU SHOOT ZOMBIES. IN THE FACE. THREE OF THEM. WITH ONE BOLT.

Barricade library if we are using it as second base. Then follow everyone else/help everyone else/nap.

As it turns out, the pen was in fact a poor choice for melee combat in comparison to the sword.

I would like to point out that the water tower can likely be used as a moderate-temperature fridge for a time(throw stuff in plastic bag, lower bag w/rope into cool water).  Though at the rate we go through provisions, that might not be a problem.  Is the entire team at the library?  If so, then we should probably stay there, though water might be a small issue (though if the city has a water tower, pressure should be maintained until the tower is emptied).

We can always collect water and bring it here tomorrow as well.

there are some emegengy exits on the ground floor, one from the basement, one on the second floor, and one from the roof. They don't have handles on the outside, except for the roof exit. There is a fire escape.

I say we should start with the emergency exits, the basement and ground floor once clearly need to be blocked. I assume the second floor one and the roof one lead to the fire escape? If so and it's a retractable escape it should be safe for the night at least.

The windows are 2 foot wide slits, narrow but not impassible so we'll probably want to push bookcases up against them (should be plenty in a library) or board them up.

The main entrance will be more work but again we should have plenty of bookcases to build a wall across the glass, we can work on how we get in and our without destroying our barricades later.

Finally we have a code "vault code 13L9" and a basement door with a keypad next to a clearly not killed by zombie gaurd.. so who wants to open it?
