Fliers counting sky as dangerous terrain.
« on: June 06, 2008, 10:39:00 am »

Just trying to run a game of Fortress with a race of fliers I made.
It appears that, although they can fly, they will cancel jobs when they are flying. As in the title, they count it as dangerous terrain, when, for them, it certainly isn't.

I figure this isn't quite right, given that if my fliers are doing it, animals are probably doing it too.

I think it might be better if fliers treated each sky square as an up/down staircase.

Yeah though, this is a long standing bug.

The problem is that the path components are set for regular walking creatures, and it uses these for all of the fortress mode jobs, etc.  Modified fortress creatures  just aren't supported at this time.  I can't make the components respect flight or other tags on fortress creatures since they are used in other places where they are assumed to be in their current form.
