Can you CRUSH a zombie's head instead of severing it? A la SILVER WARHAMMER jamming the skull through the brain?

I PREPARE TO RECEIVE THE WOUNDED
In the unlikely event of free time, I'll drag some appropriate furniture down here.

We should get a cloth and/or leather industry going for bags, if nothing else.

Also, I will bring a piece of malachite to smelt a bar of copper, and forge a copper pick.

The Cave Wheat field is currently not planted- it is actually waiting to be harvested, and all loose dwarves will make sure that gets done.

Jamming the skull through the brain wouldn't be enough, but jamming the skull out of the HEAD would certainly qualify. Once it stops looking like a skull and starts looking like, well, Chunky Salsa, its pretty well dead.

Dodging the Ground would send you into low earth orbit, if that was the particular brand of silly I was shooting for :D

Pets actually cannot be eaten regardless of mechanism of death, nor can their other body parts be used in crafts, unless that's changed since 40d. Dwarves are upset if they don't bury their pets.

Also, expect the update to be late tonight. The way my schedule has been I'm contemplating a switch to a Monday/Thursday update, since that's what I seem to be doing anyway.

Harvest/plant the cave wheat, set up loom and clothier's shop at level -2 (top row).

We need more bags!

Loom/Clothier's added to map under construction. I've also corrected the ground floor farmer's shop for material colour.

I have yet to find out anything definitive about the rate of soap/thread/cloth consumption in health care, and if I don't by the next update I'll just say that a standard job uses 1/10th of a piece of material. Dan's bandaged ribs are going to want half of a piece of cloth at least. Material consumption and the time it takes to perform a medical task will both be related to the result of the acting doctor's roll. So if Bowdown's Bone Doctor roll for the rib bandaging is a 2 (lowest possible) he'll probably use too much cloth.

Stocks to follow in a bit, and more fun with Healthcare in the next update!

Mining updated and craftdwarf's shop up. I'll set designations later today.

Where do you want the jeweller's shop?

Jeweler's shop set up. I put it in the spot where it will not block movement, in case that matters.
