Whoo late update!
1st Slate, 200
Migrants have arrived! "Dan the Man" Cowbridges has come to Cloisteredtombs.
COMPLICATION: It has stopped raining.
COMPLICATION: Animals have migrated to Cloisteredtombs.
The Dutiful Barb- The band of Hoary Marmots has left, to be replaced by a feisty pair of Mountain Goats.
The Future Jungles- The wolves have left, and a pair of deer have arrived in the east.
The Sea of Eels-A giant oceanic creature resembling a huge fish's head connected to a wide tail appears to have climbed ashore at the base of the cliff. Judging by the rotting hunks of flesh, it is a Zombie Ocean Sunfish.
Rodicurst Onyxbone, Chief Medical Dwarf and Thikut Itdunkul, Militia Captain
Thikut
JOB: Hurt Self
Thikut casts about for a sharp implement, and comes up with a copper bolt. In the interests of Medical Science, he stabs himself in the arm with it [4]-1(not suicidal), bruising the fat, tearing the skin and tearing the muscle! The bolt has become embedded in the lower left arm! AAAAAH GOD WHY
Wound: Lower Left Arm, Inhibited
JOBS: Make Wooden Chair, Manage Work Orders Treat Injured
Rodicurst cancels make Wooden Chair: Interrupted by Medical Emergency. On his way to the carpenters shop he hears a great shout, and turns to see Thikut, Wolfslayer with a bolt sticking out of his arm. Rodicurst quickly hustles him inside to the barracks/hospital/meeting hall and begins treatment. [3] Rodicurst determines that Thikut did not sever any nerves, although the torn muscles will impair his abilty to grasp with that hand until the wound heals. [5]+2 First order of business- remove the bolt from the arm. Now, the real risk here is infection- the wound needs cleaning and suturing. Odom is dispatched with a bucket to the nearest water source- a murky pool. Nasty water, but better than nothing. [1]+2-2(under-equipped hospital) Rodicurst gets MOST of the dirt out, but between the nasty water, lack of soap, and the fact this is all happening on a dirt floor due to lack of beds and tables there is a real risk of infection. The wound will need reevaluation soon to see if an infection needs to be treated. Right now, all Rodicurst can do is sew Thikut up, [4]+2 and despite the irregular shape of the wound he does an admirable job of it.

"Dan the Man" Cowbridges, Swordsdwarf
Upon your arrival at Cloisteredtombs, you are greeted by the spectacle of one dwarf stabbing himself. An unnerving sight to be sure, even for an experienced adventurer such as yourself. Puzzled, you follow the dwarf inside, where you watch him get patched up by what can only be a doctor! And here you thought health care was a myth!
For the tower, a given dwarf can throw up 4 constructions in a week, more if they're agile/helped. So, if only one dwarf does the work it'll take 7.5 weeks, give or take. Obviously, this time is dramatically reduced the more dwarves are on a task.
Incidentally, since Bowdown2q mentioned it, I am planning on only including the Good Bad Bugs- if you can make any kind of argument that "Its not a bug, its a feature!" then its in. So no soap/lye/healthcare bugs, but Perpetual Motion Machines are in.
XP and Stocks to follow, repeated apologies for tardiness, etc etc. I am planning on amending the XP portion of the followup to be an inclusive Dwarf Status Report, giving summaries of worn equipment, health, and experience.
Next update- Thikut vs Microscopic Germs! FIGHT!
