also I'm the one making weapons, don't mess with me too much or you'll wake up dead.  :P Just kidding, though as a soldier you won't get very good gear if I don't like you... not kidding.

worry about what things are made of once we aren't worrying about being ALIVE.

I only have the bauxite at the moment, and I need it to KEEP us alive... they don't need mechanisms to keep us alive

So, should I just make tables and chairs out of the stone I find in the ground? Oh wait, it's all clay.

We'll have stone next week, or the week later if something goes wrong.
I suggest giving surface industries priority with what we have, until we get more raw materials.

Well i could sacrifice some of my hunting time to chop some wood if we are stuck without stone for a week then we'll have beds and wooden furniture to ease the madness

Welp, I'm in a bit of a rush so I'm not going to pretty this up much:

STOCKS

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

After the first week inaccuracy will set in, as nobody remembers who brought what and where they put it and who used it. Which is apparently already happening.

Notably, you have 11 bauxite, 6 saquaro rib wood, 3 fungiwood, and another 3 fungiwood that is in the wagon to use as building materials. Kilakan AND Frelock brought bauxite with them.

In the future, if there is an item that 2 people want to use then the person with the highest agility gets to it first. Additionally, if materials are being produced by somebody else during the week you can use them, but you will do less in the course of your week. For example, if there had been no stone and Shadow spent his entire week digging for it, then your actions would execute in agility order as stone was procured. This would slow Bowdown2Q the least as he only builds a butchers shop, and Kilikan the most as the wait significantly cuts into his shop building time, the net effect being that he smelts fewer things.

But yeah, you've got building materials kick'n around. Its helpful to me if you bold your official actions for when I skim the thread for them later, but I'm not gonna be a bitch about it. And having stirred the pot, I'm off!

God I love this game.

I just realized the whole "two people brought bauxite" thing.  You can keep your five, kilakan, and I'll keep my six.  I'm sure we're going to run into other magma-safe stones, I just like bauxite for its blood-red color and high aluminum content, not to mention its nostalgic appeal.

Yeah, I was laughing my ass off when I realized what had happened.

Also, if not otherwise specified I'll assume that your map has North at the top. I forgot that these forums come with that capability- if I get ambitious I'll make some more accurate maps that way.

Don't forget you have alt-numpad for many symbols and the wiki for workshop tiles, and stone tiles if you really want to, but colours don't work in code mode.

I'm on a laptop with no numpad, but hopefully I'll figure it out. Incidentally, as it stands you will dig out everything except the 8x4 barracks area. I'll be plopping the farm in the hallway, which won't effect either the movement of creatures through that space nor the yield of the crop.

Okay. Also, for laptops, usually the numlock function changes some letters to a numpad. It does have to be turned on only when necessary, but it should do the trick. The fn key will also do it temporarily, but fn+alt+numpad can be cumbersome to type and it didn't seem reliable when I tried it.

EDIT: It looks like teletype mode ([ tt ][ /tt ]) works quite well. I can get foreground colour, and maybe there is a way to do background. Tables may work for that, I don't know. Here's an example map from where I should be by next week. The colour options aren't great, though. Still, it's an option you might find useful.

Alternately, use the wiki's Rawtile template and take a screenshot.

That is damn sexy, Shadow. I shall invest some time in experimenting with that.

But for now, update. I'm writing things up now, go ahead and pop back in in half an hour or so and I'll have the update done.

Ok, so its a work in progress. Undergrotto wasn't built in a day.

COMPLICATION: New wildlife has moved into the vicinity of Cloisteredtombs.

To the east, a pack of 7 wolves is wandering out of The Future Jungles.
To the north, a group of 4 hoary marmots is descending The Dutiful Barb.
To the south, the Sea of Eels is distressingly quiet.

I'll do up a proper Status of Cloisteredtombs bit tomorrow. You can change your action if you would like; unless otherwise specified, you'll continue with your original plan.

Continue the essential task of getting the farm up and running.  Mechanic's shop when space is dug out.
