There will probably be more meat walking around once the snow is gone.

Keep the golem away from the crystal guys, I think strange things will happen. Also I think we shall plant plump helmets.

Is every square in the north-eastern room ready for planting?

Nice and mulchy, but you should avoid wearing your good shoes in there.

Daily Schedule for Kog Haltpass, 15th to 21st of Granite

00-04: Sleep
04-05: Breakfast; meat, any drink
05-12: Farm
12-14: Help others (Haul)
14-17: Mine OR gather plants.
17-18: Pray to Kizbiz (If God is unreachable, start meal early.)
18-20: Supper; meat or plants, any drink. Eat slowly, conversing with those around me.
20-21: Pray to Oggez (If God is unreachable, start sleep early.)
21-24: Sleep

Farming: Put one plot, 5x4, of plump helmet spawn in the north-eastern room.
I mine if there is a pick available. If not, I try to gather plants.

Any problems?

((I think that the golem should be used a a guard (Scarecrow?) for the chickens, but that's just my opinion.))

Golem should be stationed as sentinel at the mouth of the valley. I assume it's not too dumb to stand there and give warning when anything not a dwarf approaches.

((I agree, we should keep it closer to the animals, we can defend ourselves, those animals can't, and if anything comes, we can always have it change function anyhow.  Also, just plant Plump Helmets, they mature faster and we're kinda in a crisis right now.))

The Northern room (the whole area) was for smithing and smith-related things, though for the time being it was just going to be stockpiles. The room I readded was part of a section for a forge workshop, that I'm asking to have put back on the designs so we have a few more secure segments.

If it has to become a farm, we can find another place for the forges later, but I do think we should try to move things inside.

Everything should become a farm, we're kinda close to dying from starvation if food doesn't start appearing.

I would advise slaughtering the 3 Mules, as they would have a lot of meat on them.

Just do it, it's not like we're going to use them for anything else.

OOC Calculations:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Approach Litast and the other deciders in public, and make the following speech.  Refer to notes scrawled on arm.

"So, uh, guys... turns out there's nothing to catch in the frozen forest.  Sorry.  I don't think the food's going to last - we're going to have to import supplies from *somewhere* until the harvest arrives."

"I'm not sure what we have to offer in terms of trade goods, but we really don't have a choice.  I suggest sending a delegate, myself, to ask the elves for help.  Otherwise we're going to end up raiding the humans at this rate.  Which... is also an option."

"I am also eager to speak with Kun again.  I don't get why everyone is okay with this... whatever, that's keeping us from our gods."

"I will, of course, go along with whatever plan our leaders decide on.  I just hope it works out better than plan A has."
