Plus, there's a lot of meat on a dwarf. I really doubt we're all going to die here...

We're all going to die here, aren't we?
We have 48 days.
If I start planting right away, that's two crops harvested.

We can still make it!

"Plump Helmets are tasty mushrooms that take about three months to grow."

. . . 48 days is enough to get us about 1/2 way through the plump helmet growing cycle.

Darn it, my memory replaced months with weeks.
So, I guess it's "go out and kill something, then eat it" time?

Do we know approximately how much vegetation and wildlife is currently in the area?

I figure we'd be able to put 95% of our workforce into food gathering/production and be able to live off of that until the crops we plant come around. This will only work if there's enough food in the area, though.

That's pretty much my entire day schedule right there.  Too bad I can't see in the dark right or it'd be my night schedule too.

With luck, there'll be some leftovers for the rest of ya!

Absolute worst case, we can probably go semi-nomadic, setting up the tents each night and taking them down each morning as we roam the woods for fresh berry patches. Assuming nothing ruins our crops, or we don't miss the caravan, we would probably be able to avoid starving to death long enough to get back on our feet and return to civilized living.

Sorry for the missing me, I had no internet. Technically I still don't.

Still no CoughDrop post.

As for plants/wildlife, it's hard to tell right now. It was fairly desolate due to Winter, but it might get lush like Bambi in Spring and Summer.

0100 - 0800: Sleep
0800: Breakfast of Random
0900 - 1600: Work
1600 - 2000: Practice throwing knives
2000: Dinner of Random
2100: Update Stockpile Records
2100 - 2400: Unwind

Work will consist of the following:
  • Digging out the northern room(for farming).
  • Help Farming.
  • Look after the welfare of others.

Also, it'd be nice if we all took one or two of the hours from 7-9pm as social time together. We'll work ourselves to death if we don't take a little time off.

I agree; this should be next week's plan.

I shouldn't have to say this, but food is of utmost importance.

I'm keeping an eye on this, but I understand how the holidays are.  You'd think vacation would make everyone *less* busy, but it's really not the case at all!

Actually, I keep waiting for everything (or close enough) to respond, but that takes so long that I forget about it. Then I get a message from Norrec and feel guilty.

I'm about to update, in the mean time look at the new 'Specialisations' tab next to 'Skills'. They're like good traits that affect a particular part of a particular job(s).

Check your skills for anything at Competent, Skilled or Proficient and pick up a corresponding Specialisation. You can only pick up one in each category, so for example having Architecture and Philosopher means you can still only have one Scholar specialisation that affects both.

If you have any ideas or issues on what has or has not got specialisations, let me know.

Also it would be nice if everybody gave a short description of their character, taking their traits into account.
