Day 5, 1st of Granite

Naturally, such bizarre happenings left the camp tired and confused. Plans were drawn up for a new digging design, but Litast failed to ask Kogan to verify it, making the planned irrigation tunnel questionable. Kogan discovered this and the ensuing argument prevented any work being done on the river tunnel.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Late in the afternoon a group of three dwarves appeared with carts, having formed their own caravan and set a gruelling pace to catch up to the expedition. Nylona the priest, Udil the brewer, and Delerker the miner had set out to start their new lives, no matter the dangers that awaited. A bear attacked them on the way and stole some supplies, but nobody was hurt. Nylona's cart had broken down en-route and they were unable to repair it, so her supplies had to be left behind. Fortunately they had come across the unfortunate remains of another dwarf who perished on the path ahead of them, so they took his cart as well. The Chicken and Purring Maggot in it had died recently. They were exhausted, unfamiliar with the area and busy unloading supplies, so they weren't able to participate in camp work.

The next turn will take place over the next six days, from 2nd to 7th of Granite. The weather is predicted to be snowy for a few days, then overcast. The Full Moon will end on the 4th. You can just repeat a general action for each day, or meticulously plan each hour.

You've also got two corpses to bury. You can also disassemble the carts/wagon for more materials.

12-13: take a break, drink some water
13-18: dig*
18-19: dinner of whatever and booze
19-21: dig*

*After like, 6 squares of GAR-ALPHA are dug out I'll help out with the farming area and floodgate; continue with Gar-Alpha if there's not much digging space 'cos of lots of others digging.

Also, after this week is up, Gar is going to have some serious non-physical-labour-time. :D

From 2nd Granite until Leg is Healed:

Take pick and Leather Armor, allow Bearbelly to tag along.

0000-0600: Sleep in tent
0600-0700: Breakfast of Random Food & Drink, biased towards cooked food.
0700-1300: Mine according to plans.
1300-1900: Socialize, rest injuries, light-duty work.
1900-2000: Give Bearbelly attention, do light-duty work such as caring for my tools, armor, etc.
2000-2100: Dinner of Random Food & Drink, biased towards cooked food.
2100-2400: Sleep in tent

After leg is fully healed:
Take pick and Leather Armor, allow Bearbelly to tag along.

0000-0600: Sleep in tent
0600-0700: Breakfast of Random Food & Drink, biased towards cooked food.
0700-1900: Mine according to plans.
1900-2000: Give Bearbelly attention, do light-duty work such as caring for my tools, armor, etc.
2000-2100: Dinner of Random Food & Drink, biased towards cooked food.

I think Adil likes eating raw food, so she'll avoid the cooked food even though (because?) it's getting old.
To compensate she'll drink milk if available, water otherwise.

0000-0700: Sleep
0700-0800: Breakfast
0800-1300: Head deep into the forest looking for farmable plants to harvest.
1300-1400: Lunch at camp
1400-1800: Butcher animals, or go hunting for more.
1800-1900: Watch sunset with Urist , worship Kun
1900-2000: Dinner
2000-2300: Rest, play with Denrhymed, hang out at camp, grumble about darkness
2300-2400: Sleep

And Norrec, Adil's probably the last dwarf who needs a bed.  The leg injury's mostly healed, and if it wasn't, she'd probably be sleeping out on safari in the forest (:

Eating preference: Cooked food, then plump helmets.
Beverage preference: Beer or wine, whichever is greater. (I'll switch to diluted beer/wine once the river thaws, effectively only drinking two servings a day.)

Work queue:
1) Prepare stone to create a seal around the floodgate.
2) Install the floodgate and seal in it's spot below the river.
3) Plan out the first wall with architecture. Figure out how high I can make it, and how many blocks it will likely take.
4) Create enough stone tables for every workshop we do not have.
5) More stone blocks.

Spoiler: Wall Plans (click to show/hide)

Daily schedule:
0000-0800: Sleep
0800-0900: Breakfast
0900-1000: Worship Medtobolil
1000-1300: Work
1300-1400: Lunch
1400-1900: Work
1900-2000: Dinner
2000-2300: Work. Ignore Rolan's grumbling about the darkness.
2300-2400: Play with my kitten

8 hours of sleep per day
3 hours of meals per day
2 hours of miscellaneous stuff per day
11 hours of work per day

Litast greets the immigrants explaining the food shortage and asks them if they would please eat two rations a day until a more stable supply of food is set up. She thinks it better not to tell them of the recent misfortunes, though she may be forced to if they see the bodies. She does take a small interest in Nylona, and proceeds mumbling about how she needs to make herself an agenda for the week.

Rolan, you're getting a bed because it's my way to dig at Hastur.  It will annoy him to no end that he's last on the list and you're miles ahead of him, which is my goal.  Besides, all dwarves need comfort :D

CoughDrop, don't forget to examine those orders I gave you.  Can I get all my private supplies back (as well as the horse, I'm bonding.)

Also, why is everyone eating lunch, stop, we have food shortage.
