We already thought up something similar to that earlier in the thread dragon. It was Nirur's design that featured a wall near there if I recall.

An older suggestion.
A defense idea for our Fortress.

All we need to do is readjust the position of the walls to agree with the farms and camp area, and we won't need to worry about much for a while.

Aye, but we don't need walls on both sides of the river, just on one side. The waterfall acts as a natural barrier, and if there's a small gap between the waterfall and the cliff face, then we have an easily defensible chokepoint.

At any rate, are we all agreed upon where to dig the first bits of shelter and such?

We plan on using the other half of the map, that's why Nirur put walls on both sides. For now we only need it on the side we're using for farms.

True, true.

Anyway, Begin digging as soon as the plans are finalized, taking breaks as necessary to eat, sleep, etc.

Lilli, give him a hand with the digging so we can start unloading all of our stuff and I can deconstruct the wagon and turn it into wood planks for our workshops.

I either have -1 or 0 skill in mining. There is no way you're going to get me to dig into something until I'm at least adequate from randomly breaking large rocks into several smaller rocks.

Shem, I believe the area you specified on your defense plan will suffice for now.
Assist Shem with the digging, but make sure I can pay attention to the more important jobs every now and then.

And I'm off for the night.

I have a penalty because of my caste. I believe Shade-o said something about penalties removing two points from all skills in that type.

Go help find some surface seeds for our farms, they'll need to be set up relatively quickly in order to take advantage of the surface's one growing season.

You could sit in a corner and observe things being done in an unaware manner. Or you could set the camp up.
